Re: Region 20 #7 Portsmouth @ #2 Madison
Kind of need to be able to pass in order to do that. Take a look at what West did to Parker and the score, the Madison defensive front is more impressive than west. Open mouth insert foot. Parker had 9 carries that game. And??? Guess that's what the game plan called for right, have 2,000+ back and ...

Re: Region 20 #7 Portsmouth @ #2 Madison
You know Madison has watched films on Portsmouth and will be ready for the run. I would mix it up at first and take them out of their run defense. This D is not something you have seen all year. I don’t care who is running when they put more guys than you can block. Move them back with some passes ...

Re: Region 20 #7 Portsmouth @ #2 Madison
Madison is very strong against the run. The only way to beat them is passing using quick routes. I’d get Parker out of the backfield on swing passes. That may help. Madison has a good rushing attack too so Portsmouth must play lights out on that side of the ball. Burg beat them the second half with...

Re: Region 20 #7 Portsmouth @ #2 Madison
The only way to beat speed is straight at it. Off guard and tackle should allow him to get moving. 10 yards a pop may turn to 4-5. But that’s fine. Talyn is a tough kid to bring down. And he can bounce it at any time. He may go out and surprise them boys from Madison. I doubt they’ve seen a back li...

Re: Region 20 #7 Portsmouth @ #2 Madison
Quick players and penetration is key to stopping the wing T. As for the Dline I would run a lot more option but whatever game plan Kalb comes up with it will be a good one. He knows he has to get Talyn in space. The only way to beat speed is straight at it. Off guard and tackle should allow him to ...

Re: Region 20 #8 Portsmouth West @ #1 Wheelersburg
 New topic. How much do you think the new(ish) facilities at Wheelersburg have to do with kids wanting to play there? I remember seeing West win by four scores at the Ed right before the remodel in 2011 (pretty sure the last game played on grass there), and there was no discussion of recruiting...

Ironton is young but was surprised to see them sucking air bad in second half last week. Good luck to the Tigers I believe they can play with them.

Re: Region 20 #7 Portsmouth @ #2 Madison
Just watched 4 of Madison’s game I’m impressed with both lines. I think this is our kind of game and we get the upset. Parker gets a seam it’s over and like you guys said they haven’t went 4 quarters all year. Wear them out like we did Ironton. 74 guard and 36 DE are both studs

Re: WK10: Ironton (6-3) @ Portsmouth (6-3)
You’re correct 1500 of them yards has come of #75 ass, tonight will be a battle between #44 and #75. A little side not for you, I believe coach Pendleton trains the Boehm kid.

Re: WK 10: Wheelersburg (8-1) @ Portsmouth West (6-3) SOC 2 Championship
West is in the playoffs no matter what. And more than likely West will be traveling to Burg in week 11 unless Minford beats Valley then Burg will host Minford in the first round. Then West will be the #7 seed and have to travel to Madison I don’t know. Three straight loses will be rough to keep a t...

Ironton is in no better shape then anyone they've played. FactBeergogglebluez wrote: Mon Oct 22, 2018 5:46 am That game was a battle. Everyone was tired. 1 quarter out of the whole year still isn’t to bad.

Re: WK10: Ironton (6-3) @ Portsmouth (6-3)
 Trojans by two scores 28-14. I got the Trojans at plus 7 1/2 so I definitely took it at home. I think you will be surprised at the play action pass Danny puts on this week and don't let Talyn get in open field or you're done. I also think the Trojans go to a 5 man front and make Salyers beat ...

Re: Gallia Academy 36 Ironton 33
Conditioning was a major change in Ironton. They had numerous injuries and this year have had very few. Pendleton seems to really focus on that and it shows. They push those kids to the limit. I have followed Ironton since the hire of the young coach. To explain it best he’s like a drill sergeant d...
