Jesse Owens High School Invite May 9th
Jesse Owens High School Invite May 9th
How many teams from the Southeast will be attending the Jesse Owens next Saturday?
Washington C.H. will be sending some relay teams and a few individuals from both the boys and girls team.

I believe that Coach Shepherd will bring up Southworth in just the 300 Hurdles, Tackett in the 100 meter dash, Reed in the 200 meter dash, and both Moore and Crawford in the Shot and Discus. Miller I think is running the open 400. Tackett is also long jumping and I am not for sure about their distance crew. Personally, I am looking foward to watching Reed and Southworth compete up there. Neither of them have been challanged in a full race of their strongest event. From what I have seen, Southworth beats everyone to the first hurdle and just continues to extend that lead. Reed has yet to be tested as well, in his best event, the 200. He may have been pushed for 50 - 70 meters in the beginning, but he always seems to pull away once on the stretch. Can't wait to see how the Piketon boys will do up there. Good Luck ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

The throws are gonna be stacked. Looking at the flight papers, the whole 3rd flight is over 50' in the shotput. D.J Duke from Hannibal River is the last thrower in the third flight and he's down at 64'.

hey redstreak,
just watched Duke perform tonight at the Ohio Valley Athletic Conf. championships and he tossed the shot 66'10.5" for a state record.
This Owens Meet will be a good challenge for him. I'd say he's one of the favorites but you never know. The kid's just strong and has his technique down pat.
