As part of the Arthur Lydiard Classic track and field meet. South Point High School will be hosting an event on Thursday, May 2nd at 6:30pm at the school cafeteria. We are calling the event, "Legends in Black" and will feature some outstanding Olympians from New Zealand. For those of you who don't know Arthur Lydiard, he is called the father of jogging and voted the top distance coach of all time. He is responsible for modern distance training. Since he was from New Zealand we give out meet a Kiwi flavor as you might say. Guest include:
Nick Willis, Olympic silver medalist 1500, currently racing and training for the World Championships in Moscow.
Barry Magee, Olympic bronze medalist marathon, very succesful distance coach now.
Bill Baillie, the iron man of New Zealand racing, national champion in every event from the 800 to the 10,000. Former world record holder, one hour run, and 20.000, past Olympian
Anne Audain, former world record holder women's 5,000, three time Olympian and top road racer, male or female in the 1980's
Kahurangi, Maori singing and dancing group from Hastings, New Zealand will perform
The event is FREE, and open to everyone.

You can now add Bob Schul, the only American to win an Olympic gold medal in the 5,000 meters, to the guest list. Going to get a great evening for distance running fans, and runners.
