Early Look at TVC-Boys-2016

Post by noreply66 »

Wellston

Don't see Wellston scoring in but 3 events.100 meters, 400 and 200. Don't know too much of their TVC history but the Golden Rockets did have one SEOAL title and there is an interesting story to that title. Program seems to have been down for sometime. They will score enough point to keep from the basement.

Waterford

Another team that just might only score in three events...4x800, 110, Shot put. Boys do not seem to be where the girls program is. Will be a bottom third finish.

Wahama

Wahama looks to be still rebuilding their program. Looks to be five events they should score in and they will be lower half points. And this also will keep them out of last place.

Vinton County

Program has went down after winning the title a few years back. It is down to maybe scoring in three events. If I remember from the middle school meet the freshmen won't offer much help.

Trimble

Not a lot of point here either. The middle school looked good when I saw them but it might take a couple of year

South Gallia

Several teams in the TVC are down this year. South Gallia probably won't score too many points either.

Southern

Southern will do well in the league meet with a chance to score 9 or 10 events. Very good chance to finish in the top five. Best events look to be 100, 1600, Shot Put, Discus, 800, 200, Discus, 3200, 4x400.

River Valley

RV has a chance to make the overall top 5 too with strong showings in the 4x200, 300, 200, Should pick up points in 8 to 10 events. Some nice talent in the program that will help the old boys from the OVC.

Nelson/York

Nelson/York boys have come along way under their new coach of three years. Top five finish this coming season with scoring in all but three events 1600, 400 and 3200. Field events will be the big scoring events. Middle school looked good when I saw them and should bring some help quick.

Miller

Miller will finish up the latter this year. Won't score in too many events but with so many teams down they could finish in the top 10.

Meigs

Meigs will score in a lot events this year but will it be enough to get to the top? Only see three events 100, 4x100 and 3200 where they will have trouble getting points. 100 might be wrong because seems like Meigs always has some speed. 400 could bring a 1st place. This team will push toward 100 points in a overall meet.

Federal Hocking

This team could score in half the events but most points will be from the the lower 8 finishers.

Eastern

Eastern will be a top 5 team and could be higher if not for being down in 5 of the last 6 events of the league meet.
Should score in 11 events with 110 and 300 bring big points

Belpre

12 events will bring points for Belpre. 110, 100, Shot Put, 200 and the long jump will be very difficult to get points in.
As the scoring goes during the meet Belpre will get close to the lead but just will not make it.

Athens

Once again they will be the team to beat. Lost a lot but will still score in 13/15 events. They just will not get the big number in certain events. The 100, Shot Put, High jump, Long Jump, could get Athens into trouble if Belpre, Meigs, Nelson/York bring a strong A-game.

Alexander

Alexander will be a top 10 team in the league. Will not score in a lot of the events but what they do score in could put them in around 7th place.

The Finish

Look for Eastern to start out with the quick lead. The 4th through 8th event will see Athens jump into the front. Then Meigs will take the lead but not for long as Athens will regain the lead with a 300 win. Nelson/York will come alive over the next four events to be the front runner only to see Athens out score them over the final 3 events to take the title. look for Meigs to squeeze past the Buckeyes for 2nd.
