South Point
South Point looks to be one of four strong teams in the OVC. I can see South Point taking three of the four relays. Field events should be a little better than average with the high jump looking the best. The 800, 1600 and 3200 does not look good. Hurdles look good. Sprints could be real strong. SP should score in in 15 events.
Rock Hill
If South Point makes the littlest mistakes in a relay Rock Hill will be more than happy to take that one. Field events are below average with the high jump looking like the point getter. 800, 1600 and 3200 look real good. Hurdles are below average. Sprinters will be hurting to get points. 100, Shot put, 200 and discus will be difficult to get points.
Portsmouth
The Trojans will score in most events but will finish in the bottom half of the league. Average relay teams. Might have trouble scoring in three of the field events. 800,1600 and 3200 will not bring in a lot of points. Hurdles look good. Sprints look average overall. With the 200 looking strong the sprint go down hill after that. Scoring in 14 events with a lot of it being 5th place on down.
Ironton
This program has been down for sometime now and this year will be no different. Should score in 10 events with shot put and discus being the ones that give the Tigers their big points. 4x100 looks to be the best relay team and it is average. The other three field events could shoot blanks in the league meet. 800 and 3200 will find it hard to get points. No hurdlers. Sprints will not do much.
Fairland
Relay teams are at the near bottom of the OVC. Field events will be very strong with big points coming from the high jump, Discus and pole vault. 800, 1600 and 3200 will get some good points but the depth isn't here. Hurdles are above average. The sprints could keep Fairland from the OVC title.
Dawson Bryant
The 3200 looks to be this teams worst event with the 800 just a little better. 1600 will score points. Middle relays look good and the other two average. Pole vault and long jump look solid with the other three field event about average. Hurdles will scor some solid points. 100 and 200 are strong with 400 below average.
Chesapeake
Two of the relays look good with the other two average. Field events will be led by the long jump and pole vault with all five scoring. 800 and 3200 will hang tough but the 1600 doesn't look good. Hurdles look down. Sprints will bring their share of points.
The Finish
Over the first four events South Point will come out looking good with Portsmouth and Dawson Bryant hanging in there. After the 1600 Dawson Bryant will control the meet to the mid-way point. South Point will hand right with them along with Portsmouth staying close and Chesapeake climbing into the race. With only six events to go South Point and Dawson start putting some distance between them and the rest. With only the 4x400 left Dawson and never give up Fairland are neck and neck. The 3200 has put a hit on South Point and they need the 4x4 and Dawson and Fairland to choke. If everything runs smooth Dawson Bryant will pull it out with South Point nipping Fairland for second.
