Portsmouth HS Trojan junior Lynsey Shipley won the state championship in the 400 meter run on Saturday, and placed 3rd in the long jump. Shipley has qualified for the state 3 straight years. She had previously qualified for the state in several other events.
Congratulations to Lynsey.......she certainly looks to have a bright future in track.......maybe a big time D1 school will offer her.

Yeah I've seen her compete a few times, she is an absolute beast.

It should read 400 meter run. There is no 400 hurdles in Ohio.
This year was a little harder for Lynsey than last year if I recall.
