Good Luck to both teams. They are saying that we will probably have rain, so that could change a lot of factors in the game. cheergurl is excited that the Apple Bowl is here this year, and she and her court will make an appearance at the game and is hoping to see that gahs4ever is well enough to attend.

Despite each record, both aren't very good. Jackson will have to be favored, but like the rest of the schedule, it would be embarrassing to lose this game. Devils lose another one.

I'm more interested in seeing how they do against Gallia Academy first.

Jackson certainly has their toughest games ahead. There's no denying that. They've won the games that they've played so far though, and that's all they can do. You and I agree that the non-league schedule should be improved. You just have such an eloquent way of expressing that opinion.

Gallia Academy has the defense to win this game. Its all going to come down to how our offense does.

Jackson was also 4-0 last year when they came to Memorial Field and GAHS was 2-2, and I distinctly remember everyone predicting an easy Jackson win, but as Lee Corso always says, I was the one saying, "Not so fast my friend!"

Not everyone was saying it would be an easy win for Jackson. Not this guy, at least. I know better than that.

I have seen some of the craziest things I've ever seen in football happen during this rivalry. You can throw out the records when these two teams get together. Every once in a while, you'll see a blowout, but that's certainly a rare occasion. This game usually comes down to the final minutes. The Blue Devils have had a great run lately (thank goodness for the 2007 Jackson team), but nearly all of those games were nail biters. I wouldn't expect anything less on Friday night.

Lets make Jackson the favorite... That's when they always play their best :-D ... Hard to get a good read on our defense after playing I-town & Logan.. Jackson will be a good test to see how far we have come sinse week one... The wingee-dingee-Tee offense has me worried.. I know its new but most plays seem to be run between the tackles & the backs are taking a pounding.... The passing game has alot to be desired also... We are always forcing the ball into heavy coverage... And what's up with our play calling.... First and 10 on our own 3 and we call a pass play.. That really fooled them. Let's make it two in a row over jackson, then we can wear our "Streak Shirts " again.............

Your offense is only as good as the players you have running it.It would not matter if we were running a spread , a veer, apower i,you still have to have the players. Our guys play hard but we are not real deep at some positions.

"Your offense is only as good as the players you have running it." So you are saying we don't have the players to run any kind of offense... ????HMMM..... We have alot of the same players we had last year and ended up winning 5 games...... :122246

Just a thought on the Wing-T, speaking as an experienced fan Athens implemented this offence under coach Miller as most of you will remember. First off to run this scheme properly your skill players and guards must be really quick for the timing of the play for it to work, secondly timing is everything and it will take more than this season to get it right. Athens didn't have the type of atheletes to run this system well at the time. I hope you guys give it a legit chance to work because as many teams who play teams like Fairfield Union every year know it is tough to defend when executed properly with talented kids. If you only give it a year or two like we did it will likely cost you two or three more to recover from it as the younger kids will get used to a system then have to learn some other offence and, it isn't easy as most of you know. GAHS is known for having excellent skill players from year to year and given time could prosper with this or any other scheme.

as for your streak shirts concering JACKSON you should just throw them away....bball i think your right on as far as adjust, but it wont happen...my way [eddy] or nothing will cost him in the future.. my kids say there is no school spirit for his new rules have contained the student body.....their are some really good players on this team getting the shaft...
