The message at our home church this morning was repentance. I believe most of the posters on this site, including myself should repent for our lack of being humble about our team's successes.

Coming off a tough loss and Wilks being out. I'm gonna go with the Ironmen in a tight one! 24-21

Wilkes is out but Hager is back after missing 2 games before the Alder game which gave Trevor White some valuable playing time, Trevor is coming along nicely.Ragweed87 wrote:Coming off a tough loss and Wilks being out. I'm gonna go with the Ironmen in a tight one! 24-21
We will miss Wilkes no doubt but should still be OK at the Running Back positions.

Actually I think the Linemen are ok, I seen Warner (FB-LB) and Lawless (E-DB) come out of the game with some type of injuries but don't know the extent of them.FIDO wrote:How are the linemen? Someone insinuated on another thread they were a little banged. I do believe Ironton wins though.

I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure both Lawless and Warner are nursing shoulder injuries. Both were banged up going into the Alder game but are playing with significant pain. I understand that Warner didn't want to come out against Alder but Lutz made him stay. He is a warrior for sure. Lawless has had a sore shoulder or something upper body anyway and hurt it pretty badly on one of the long plays Alder had where he fell trying to make a tackle.OHbuckeye1 wrote:Actually I think the Linemen are ok, I seen Warner (FB-LB) and Lawless (E-DB) come out of the game with some type of injuries but don't know the extent of them.FIDO wrote:How are the linemen? It is hard to go thru a season without injury when you play both ways. It says a lot about the character of the kids when they refuse to quit even though they are banged up. There are quitters, and then there are those that do not know how to quit.
Of course there are those that never played too like someone that spouts off frequently on this board. LOL
Re: Ironton (5-1) @ Jackson (5-1)
I'm glad to see that the Ironmen are in position to make the playoffs at this point. Obviously this week is a HUGE game for Jackson with regard to the post-season. The first goal is to win the SEOAL, but since this week is a non-league game, the focus turns to computer points for me. That's the luxury of being a fan too...we can look at the big picture, rather than having to focus on each opponent as the staff and kids do.Ironman92 wrote:Jackson up to #7
Anyway, seven wins certainly won't get Jackson into the playoffs this season. Eight wins will be very tight, and nine wins is a guarantee. That's why this game is so important for Jackson. A second loss puts even more pressure on the shoulders of the Ironmen the last three weeks.
Without a win over Ironton, Jackson is essentially getting ZERO help from the non-league schedule. VC and Waverly are going to be little help, the debacle in Week 1 means no help from the Rockets, leaving Ironton as the only potential out-of-conference source for computer points. Making the post-season is definitely a goal that this Jackson team wants to achieve, and in order to get there, a win against the Tigers could very well be a necessity. The stakes on Friday night are about as big as it gets.

Found out last night Lawless is done for the season. Something about torn muscles in the shoulder and will be having surgery this week. This came from a reliable source.
Re: Ironton (5-1) @ Jackson (5-1)
Terrible news about Lawless. He has a nose for the football and will hit you anytime anywhere. Pound for pound one of the top players I have seen this year.

Re: Ironton (5-1) @ Jackson (5-1)
This just makes me sick to my stomach. He will be missed. Get well soon Lawless.philthyphil wrote:Found out last night Lawless is done for the season. Something about torn muscles in the shoulder and will be having surgery this week. This came from a reliable source.
He played injured, not just hurt, now that is a MAN.
One particular poster on this site never played to experience what it is like to play hurt or even worse injured, but he talks down to kids like he played in the NFL. LOL Just a blow hard.
Re: Ironton (5-1) @ Jackson (5-1)
Well this is a big blow for the Tigers. I was afraid that this might happen we are not very deep. Who will be his replacement. I hope someone will step up to the challenge. The Tigers has some more problems with other injuries.I-town-90 wrote:This just makes me sick to my stomach. He will be missed. I might be incorrect but Dion Brown was playing corner too and he is out too with a torn Labrum, so we are going to be missing THREE DB's, Wilkes, Brown, and Lawless.BuckBalls wrote:Well this is a big blow for the Tigers. We will be down to a third team DB most likely.
I know one guy that couldn't have even been fourth team for the Tigers and he talks like he played for the Bengals on this site. LOL
Re: Ironton (5-1) @ Jackson (5-1)
I think we may end of plagued with injuries. I know that Jackson is going to come at us with every thing that they have and I know we can stop them. I think we will play tough, hopefully we can get up by a few and give the boys a break..

I hate to hear this too. I know that Michael was an animal out there and there's probably not another kid who loved playing as much as he does. My prayers will be with him on a speedy and a 100% complete recovery!philthyphil wrote:Found out last night Lawless is done for the season. Devastating news for the tigers. IMO Warner and Lawless are the two best on the defensive side of the ball. They fly to the ball. If Warner is banged up also, the Tigers could be in big trouble for the rest of the season. This team is not deep at those positions.
