Re: Waverly High School Hall of Fame
Very cool.
I really like the idea of being out 10 years before being considered
At ZT, you can get inducted the following year after graduation.
Not to say that any are not worthy, but being a state qualifier will often get you in here. We will cover the walls here with wrestlers.
I like very very high standards (but i guess im old school)

Re: Waverly High School Hall of Fame
Where is Tim Tackett @? Pretty much the best high school baseball player to put on a Waverly jersey IMO. I don't know how many other BB players had helicopters with big league scouts showing up to games. HMMM pretty fishy politics
Re: Waverly High School Hall of Fame
You should probably nominate him, comeonman. There has only been one class inducted so far. John Shoemaker was drafted in two pro sports so politics had nothing to do with that.

Re: Waverly High School Hall of Fame
Not taking anything away from anyone who was inducted just posing a question . John was a great athlete, yet I find it interesting he was the only one you attempted to compare TT to.Is your opinion that perhaps TT should have been inducted before the others? You ask why I didn't nominate him, shouldn't the question be, "how on earth can you talk Waverly baseball(which there obviously was talk considering the inductees) and not nominate him? Pfeifer ,Martin , and the entire 54 team, Come-On-Man.
Big Dog you know politics play a part in every move that is made here in Waverly. Even if you don't agree with my statement about TT should have been in the first class, you are not naïve enough to believe in no political decision making.

Re: Waverly High School Hall of Fame
It is not a baseball hall of fame. There are many athletes that will be inducted but it wont happen all in one year.
The 54 baseball team own the schools only State Championship!

Re: Waverly High School Hall of Fame
bigdog has been around plenty to know there are very deep school politics that play many roles... lol...
Re: Waverly High School Hall of Fame
Take a breath! They are trying to do it in chronological order. The older guys won't be around forever, honoring them first makes sense. Younger guys will get their time.

Re: Waverly High School Hall of Fame
Usually the people mentioning politics are the ones that weren't good enough to play or had a kid that wasn't good enough to play!! I have been around Waverly Athletics for years and if you are good enough you play regardless of name or financial standing!! As for the Hall of Fame, there are numerous deserving names that will be inducted in due time!!
