Much like last week, the game at VC should be one of the most competitive. Coin flip game again I believe.

This will also be homecoming for Vinton County.

VC is 24-20-1 overall in homecoming contests and 1-1 vs Meigs.

The Vikings are 16-6 in their last 22 and currently have dropped 4 straight. The last homecoming victory was a 40-13 win over Alexander in 2007.

I to believe this game is a toss up. I am hoping for a injury free game for both teams and wish both the best!

In my honest opinion I will have to take Meigs in this one something like 17-16!

Got to go with my vikes. I look back at our Defense last week and two breakdowns and three turnovers and one big penelty killed us. If we stop shooting ourselves in the probverbial foot we win last week and Unioto. Hats off to both those teams because all that matters is the W. We need this one. Lets go get this one boys.

During the Vikings/Coal Grove scrimmage earlier this year, there were about 15 Meigs players and coaches there to scout both teams. They were sitting right behind me and were pretty confident about their chances vs both VC and CG. They referred to the VC game as "This years Southern game. " and a few other statements that aren't appropriate for a public forum. I wonder after their 1-5 start it they still have no respect for the Vikings? I'm anxious to see if they can back up their 37-0 (Meigs vs. Southern score 2011) prediction. Good luck Marauders. You're going to need it!

meigs has definetly been humbled by their 1-5 start . this young team is getting more reps every week & are keeping their heads up despite the butt whippings they are taking . friday night should be a good game

Have not seen Vinton, however have seen Meigs. They have a QB and RB that are outstanding, if Vinton cannot contain these two Meigs will be in it to win it.

Dundas,
Your Vikings just may be in a little bit of trouble this week as the Meigs team got a whole lot smarter after last weeks game.

I heard someone saying how Neslonville-York really schooled them Meigs players. SOOOO watch out

Lol this should be a pretty decent game. Last week vs Alexander was pretty intense late, and I'd say this one has the makings of being another nail biter! I'm sure NY will teach most of the TVC teams a thing or two about how to play football :)

Too bad Meigs still dont have the old coach. I bet they could win this one with him.

I like Vinton in this one. Hope I didnt Jinx them but they get the win this week. Meigs is not a very good coached team. I do think they have the talent though. Kids play hard, just not put in good situations

Yeah, that's the answer. Bring back the head coach that started the demise of VC football. O'rourke did a great job with the kids he had, Queen did not. Either way, I do not think either of them are the missing link. VC just can't compete year in and year out. That is evident. Look at the record books. Even when they won the league it was with 7-3 records and 1 was even 6-4. It is just not realistic to think that VC should be winning games every year.

I don't think firing the coach is the answer for VC. He hasn't been there long and he basically had to start from step 1.
