Johnstown vs St Clairsville
Re: Johnstown vs St Clairsville
I've seen Ironton a lot of times in the playoffs & that by far was the worst Ironton team I've ever seen I did like the balance Johnstown showed but St Clairsville is a balanced spread offense Ironton moved the ball when they went spread their first drive went right down the field then went away from it tried running against a 9-10 man box so your not gonna be able to pack the box vs a spread offense & St Clairsville will give up some points but their offense is so good a turnover here or their or a drive stalling puts so much pressure on their opponents defense it's not like I'm hating on Johnstown I'm from NY obviously & I believe your OC is a Buckeye himself but its just how I think this game is gonna play out

No excuse but Jtown always seems to start a little slow. Ironton also benefited from a few calls and some Johnnie errors. Credit the coaches and players with making adjustments the rest of the way. Also, Jtown knocked those players out of the game besides #71. 74 really hadn't played much all year. Jtown could have scored 60, they called off the dogs early in the 4th quarter.

Like I keep saying not trying to start a war on here just my opinion obviously Johnstown is a solid football team being in the regional final but its my feel on how it's gonna go down Friday night but I've been right & wrong many of times will see how it shakes out in due time

Ferns might be interested to know that Michigan also has a commitment from DeVeon Smith, RB from Warren Howland, who will probably be D-II All Ohio again and the area Player of the Year. His older brothers played for Mich. St and Wisconsin ( before getting into trouble) and then playing at Memphis St. Big time back who had a ton of offers from Big 10, ACC, Big East, etc

Johnstown better be fast because St C has speed all over the field. 55 being tossed Friday will hurt both off/def.

Re: Johnstown vs St Clairsville
Stephens ejection was not smart. He threw the punch, I watched it on the replay. You know that rarely does the first swing or instigator get seen/caught. He simply lost his cool and will pay the consequences. He will be missed at ILB and at center. I believe that we will start a SR at center for the Johnstown game, and this young man will do fine.
They will probably rotate a few kids in a ILB beside Ferns. Two of them will be Freshman, #34 who has seen significant time this year and is going to be a player. Also, #5 who is Mike Ferns younger brother and is going to be a good one as well.
We also had our starting OLB go down in the first half, although I am not sure how bad his knee is. Next player in line straps it on, and there will be no excuses about these circumstances coming from the Red Devils, regardless of the outcome.

Yes St c I hope this to be a good game also No injuries and a keep clean game Johnstown knows how it feels to be in this situation from Last year St C will be the home side and again we are the visitors

It maybe an outsiders perspective, but this site is a lot more civil than our site. I get really tired of reading the bashing that goes on over there - years and years of hate and envy built up. So many posters over there will jump as soon as we get beat. The "I told ya so's" will be out in full force.14svt wrote:Yes St c I hope this to be a good game also No injuries and a keep clean game Johnstown knows how it feels to be in this situation from Last year St C will be the home side and again we are the visitors
Best of luck to you guys on Friday.
One more thing, the actions of one player do not define a team. #55 lost his temper - and he has been punished accordingly. I was there, and there is no excuse for that - but he is a good kid and plays hard. He will be missed Friday night. There have really been no issues all year with this kind of thing.

Same to you ST. C dirkadirka.
Sometimes as a player you get caught up in the moment, and it turns negative, it happens and wish the best.
I have to give it up to these great Ironton fans, they are respectful and love chatting to them on this site, very class A PEOPLE.

Best of luck to you and the Johnnies - perhaps we can keep it civil on the other board for the rest of the week.

Re: Johnstown vs St Clairsville
Losing 55 will be a factor, the center exchange in the shotgun is critical. Good luck to St. C in getting the backup ready. Johnstown better be prepared to try and slow down the passing game without double covering. If you focus on the pass, 8 will gash you. If you load the box, they will throw over you. I havent watched Johnstown, but it sounds like they are a pretty solid defensive team. The key will be that center, man I wouldnt want to step into that situation in week 13! lol
