Oh Bevo. I don't even need to comment on you anymore. I'll just sit back and watch you make yourself look stupid. Sounds like you're (not your by the way) the one with beef with your alma mater. Gallia Academy's gym is state if the art. Point blank. They got it right. Who builds a new school snd doesn't put sir conditioning in it? It's just stupid.

No beef bevo. Just stating facts. No sign to the school, football field with about 500 seats, hot cracker box gym. Those are all facts. How can you defend a school board that split everything 50-50 between RV and south gallia? RV graduates about a 100 a class and south gallia about 30. If I was tax payer with a kid that went to rv I'd be fired up with the facilities that they have squeezed the rv kids into so that they can be fair.

Prep Expert,
You are exactly right. The school board didn't think this all the way through. First, they are giving equal facilities to the high schools when they are no where close to having the same number of students.RV doesn't necessarily need to have "nicer" facilities, but they do need larger facilities. Second, they issued the bonds stating that part of the money would be used for the demolition of the old school.....last time I checked there is still a building sitting over there in Cheshire. Why aren't more people upset about the board not delivering on what they promised with the tax payer's money?

Please tell me if I'm missing something here and shoot me down for it, but if a company says they are going to provide a service based on me paying them money, I expect them to deliver on that promise.

It's because the board is controlled by members from the south end and they manipulated the administration to get the facilities they have at south gallia. The people from the north just take it. It's sad what the board and administration did to the kids at rv.

PE you can tell the truth! I didn't think you had it in you. Cudos man!!! The southern part of Gallia County tries to control the entire county just look how many work in the court house!

superblue wrote:Bevo wrote " Unlike my alma mater who over spent went over budget, hired a bargain basement contractor who did shoddy work.." First of all I have nothing against RV and wish them the best... I agree with certain points that Bevo made but some of his knowledge is a little off, The contractor that he mentions that did the work at GAHS also did the work at RV and also constructed the new Football facility.. Never been in RV's gym but I know for a fact that the Air conditioning ductwork was installed and later removed, this is why they came in under budget.... So basically you built the football field by removing the AC from the gym...
No ! Your wrong again, lol The school was not designed to have AC. Where you got that info is a complete mystery. See when you build duct work for a building it is prefabbed and has to be budgeted and delivered and if you don't use it you still have to pay for it. So your info is WRONG!

JUST A TID BIT: I also heard that all of us people who live in the city limits will be prompted for an operating levy with in the next 3 yrs. So that we can Air Condition a Gym that is used about 2 months that you actually need Air Conditioning. That is also why every kid that plays a sport pays $90.00 per sport just to play Jr High through grade 12 at Gallia Academy. So if you want to talk about the luxury of Air Conditioning is paid for by every person with kids playing sports! That is a disgrace! The School board must all be Democrats the way they over spend!

Also Dairy Queen Man: The design of GA gym is ok if you have a Div 1 school with a thousand students and you can afford it, but Gallipolis is neither even though a lot of our parents and alumni think were a state power in every thing and the construction company that Tim Kyger and the rest of the School Board chose was and is the biggest rip off in the state, they have screwed up every job and went over budget on every project that they have ever done! Why let 8 yr old kids build a castle? Pretty much what happened.
