Paint Valley, Portsmouth ND, FF Green, Sciotoville to R23

Post by chiefs »

R23 gains Paint Valley, Notre Dame, Green, Sciotoville... and Danville in R23, while losing Malvern, Steubenville Catholic Central, and Toronto. The region still has New Philly TCC, Beallsville, and Shadyside.

Division VII has 112 schools this year, equally split into four regions.

Overall it's a roughly equal-trade off in terms of the best three that were gained/lost.

Are any of the teams moving to this Region predicted to have a successful year?

Danville is always good to crack the top 8. I do not know about the Scioto County schools or PV this year.

I thought regions only changed every 2 years? Didn't they just change last yr? Do you have a link.

OHSAA added/re-admitted seven new schools to football this year; six of them are Division VII, the other is in Division VI.

Schools they admitted

Division VI - Worthington Christian

Division VII - Ashtabula St John (formerly Sts John and Paul, back after money and numbers issues), Cincinnati Hillcrest, Cincinnati Miami Valley Christian Academy, Cleveland Whitney Young, Dola Hardin Northern (they're returning after last year's cancelled season), Fostoria St. Wendelin (back after money and numbers issues), and Troy Christian. Division VII also sees the drop-down of New Miami and Mississinawa Valley.

For 2013 there were 104 schools evenly distributed as 26 teams for each region, now there are 112 schools evenly distributed as 28 teams for each region.

It's on JJ.

PV should be pretty solid the next couple of years, lots of returning contributors from last year's playoff squad and very well coached. This should be a great move for them to have a chance to at least compete in Week 11.

Shouldn't your topic say Region 25?
