So Sheridan last year went to regional finals in D3, nearly won but they weren’t better than Ironton or Chillicothe?Rolltanks wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2019 1:59 pm 1. Ironton

Guess I don’t think of them in our area . But they’re always a tough team
Re: Top 10 Teams in the SE District
I don’t believe they are as good as typical. I just went SE District teams. Hard to say where they fall.Poo Bear wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2019 3:16 pmGuess I don’t think of them in our area . But they’re always a tough team

Mine a little svc heavy because that’s who I’ve watched and feel comfortable with. I feel comfortable with matchups with the 4 svc teams I selected in games with teams just outside like Portsmouth, Valley, west, wellston, Minford or Waverly.

I was told south east only, if Sheridan is in then I would take licking valley and probably some of the mvl teams tooIronman92 wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2019 2:20 pmSo Sheridan last year went to regional finals in D3, nearly won but they weren’t better than Ironton or Chillicothe?Rolltanks wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2019 1:59 pm 1. I’ve specifically said SE District multiple times in this thread....but thanks for posting regardlessRolltanks wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2019 4:02 pmI was told south east only, if Sheridan is in then I would take licking valley and probably some of the mvl teams tooIronman92 wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2019 2:20 pmSo Sheridan last year went to regional finals in D3, nearly won but they weren’t better than Ironton or Chillicothe?Rolltanks wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2019 1:59 pm 1. If Amanda Clearcreek is considered SE then they'd go in as my #5 and everyone would move down a spot after that. Tough call between me putting Portsmouth, Adena or Waverly at 10. I'm afraid with Shanks sustaining another injury that the QB position could be a bit in flux with Waverly, and Adena really hasn't done anything for me not to put them at 10 but Trojans seemed to have developed the ability to pass and still have the best back in the area in Parker.

Re: Top 10 Teams in the SE District
I know I will probably get nailed for this....but.....I think that Nelsonville York and Athens need to be consider.
I know they are 1-2 and 0-3 respectively, but the competition they have faced has been BRUTAL!!
I could see both possibly winning out till they face each other in Week 10.
Just my opinion!

I would’ve listed Athens maybe but made my own “must be at least .500 rule”RVRaiderFan wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2019 5:10 pm I know I will probably get nailed for this....but.....I think that Nelsonville York and Athens need to be consider.

Flop Portsmouth with Gallia and move em up a spot and I think it’s pretty accurate

Re: Top 10 Teams in the SE District
Big props to the original poster Ironman92 for taking the lead on this thread. It’s making for some good discussion and will continue to make for better banter as the season goes on.
My only criticism (and I hope it’s understood to be a gentle and constructive one) is the parameter of “SE District” may be a little reductive geographically as it relates to the football following on this board, since football is virtually the only major sport that isn’t played in district formation by grouping in playoffs but rather regional formation. This precludes a few teams obviously worthy of being mentioned in a top 10 discussion, such as Fort Frye and the Muskingum County schools who arguably befit the “Southeastern Ohio” geographic distinction along with schools that some may consider to be on the northwesterly “Southeastern Ohio fringe” who will most likely be contenders in the playoffs that will sort them to de facto Southeast regions (e.g. Amanda-Clearcreek / Region 19 and Fisher Cath. / Region 27.) Perhaps the board can see an energetic and interesting discussion for football on the broader ‘Southeastern Region’ here in a week or so. [P.S. Clinton-Massie is probably not a school that would fit here, since C-M is so far west.]

Re: Top 10 Teams in the SE District
Well I think he has Ironton on top because he feels there that much improved over last year. This Gallia team is young and inexperienced. But I think this years Gallia team could take last years Gallia team after week 3. Will they continue to improve and be is good as Gallia was last year by week 8 I don’t know. But the team that played point Friday night was way better and farther along then the team that lost to Jackson last year week 3.
They just need snaps and experience.
Re: Top 10 Teams in the SE District
I understand this thought but I like the SE district parameters. Feel free to add in the Fort Frye’s, Amanda’s, Clinton Massie etc. We can use those teams to help figure out the top 10 of my set parameters and posts can insert those teams where they think they would be. For those that know the Tri Valley’s, John Glenn’s and Fort Frye’s....I doubt they know much of the Clinton Massie’s, Wilmington’s, Western Brown’s.formerfcfan wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2019 6:19 pm Big props to the original poster Ironman92 for taking the lead on this thread.
