Thursday- Africentric @ Briggs
I am covering this one.
Both teams are 1-0
Briggs escaped Linden 21-0
Africentric toppled Mifflin 20-8
The A.D. was happy with the coverage last week.
This week we have two people covering this one.

Is Africentric good or are big schools like Briggs and Mifflin not football powers?

Africentric isn’t good; Briggs is not good; Mifflin is generally not good, although not bottom of the barrel in the city.EasternDspy wrote: Wed Sep 23, 2020 3:06 pm Is Africentric good or are big schools like Briggs and Mifflin not football powers?

Re: Thursday- Africentric @ Briggs
Africentric isn’t a private school. And to clarify, when it comes to football their school status shouldn’t be thought of as being a private school. Columbus has five speciality public high schools in the district: Ft. Hayes, Cols. Alternative, Cols. International, Africentric and Linden-McKinley STEM.EasternDspy wrote: Wed Sep 23, 2020 6:04 pmWasn’t sure because you never know with private schools.formerfcfan wrote: Wed Sep 23, 2020 3:27 pmAfricentric isn’t good; Briggs is not good; Mifflin is generally not good, although not bottom of the barrel in the city.EasternDspy wrote: Wed Sep 23, 2020 3:06 pm Is Africentric good or are big schools like Briggs and Mifflin not football powers?
The first four are all selective enrollment, lottery system admissions. The first two don’t have sports, the latter three do.

Sorry, formerfcfan! But you did a much better job explaining the distinctions than I could have done.
