Couple of interesting articles, one from the Columbus Dispatch over the weekend, about Bob Kennedy, the man behind the mic at Ohio Stadium for the past 15 years. Here is Kennedy's formula, which works for announcers at all levels:
"It's ball carrier, tackler, how many yards they got on the play, down and distance. Done."

It will be a very sad day when they hang it up that’s for sure.37reps@225# wrote: Sun Oct 21, 2018 10:18 pmI have said it once before already Dan, Dan,and Pete are the best in the business! If you can’t make it to the game rest assured they have you covered. They are celebrities no doubt about it! I heard there is like 10000 people that tune in each and every week. They are and always will be the voice of our fighting Ironmen. If anyone is getting started in the biz 96.7 Friday night record it and take notes because that’s how it’s done.Ironman92 wrote: Sun Oct 21, 2018 8:46 pm Also I’ll shout out to Dan Morrow who does radio for Jackson football and basketball. He speaks on the radio of every kid knowing their grandparents are likely listening. Also a smooth voice, pretty unbiased calling and mixes in his views and analysis nicely.
Bob Grillo is much like Morrow (good ol Jackson boys from the mid 70’s)....and the wkkj guys are really good.

The Voice of the Redsteaks, does a great job. The rum dum that has to fill in for him every once in a while, not so much!

I like a PA announcer like the OSU announcer profiled in the link to the “Dispatch” article above. I just want the facts, no commentary or cheerleading.
Also, I agree with the comments about the Jackson and Vinton County radio announcers. These guys are a pleasure to listen to. They support the home team while at the same time being respectful of the opponent and the officials.
