Div 4 region 16

Post by GeneralCarpenter »

Unioto, McClain and Waverly are really the only teams from this area. What teams should they want to draw and what teams to avoid? Looks like Unioto will get the 3 seed (according to Drew Pasteur) and McClain and Waverly will be in the 13-16 range.

Don’t want to play Clinton-Massie in the first round

Last year’s State Champs started slow against a great schedule, but have been very competitive in every game, besides maybe Western Brown. Anything else and it’s not an awful first round matchup for where the Shermans will be seeded.

Almost doesn’t matter who plays who this region is brutal for SEO Wyoming is so doggone consistent, Clinton-massie may be down but they are defending state champs. McNichols played Burg very well, Fenwick having a good year also

Oh Wyoming is taking this region, honestly I don’t think anyone pushes them.

Why isn’t Unioto in region 15? Has way more local teams. I think they’d have a better chance of winning 2-3 in that region. I think winning 2 would be tough in 16

I have always wondered why Waverly wasn’t consistently in 15, they were once and faired alright before running into Bloom-Carroll

We have bounced between the two regions, historically 15 is an easier region but with big red and Hartley back in d4 makes it lot tougher. I don’t even want to think about the tanks going to Death Valley. Trouble for the tanks in 16 is on the line. After Wyoming and Taft I think we can play with a lot of the teams in the region but on the line we would be outmatched. You also won’t get an easy game in round two. Best we can hope for is a winnable game in round one and get lucky in round two with a team we can compete with if things go your way maybe get a win. Round three we can’t compete.

I do think this is the year Unioto gets their first playoff win in school history. I don’t count the Covid year when they beat Hillsboro who would’ve been ranked 21st in the region.
