Falcon Fan I remember you jumping all over Ironton for scheduling the Canadian team, so becareful of what you are implying.

Just don’t come on here and kick another program when it’s down. You wouldn’t like it either if it was done to you 20 years ago. I thought Minford went 3-7 a few year ago, could be wrong. Your schedule 'is what it is' and the kids from RV know what is going on and do have to show up and play the game. If they don’t show up and their football program is cancelled then you have a 9 game schedule, is that what you want?

If Minford does have 3 , 4 season of 7+ wins I think they should play Ironton, we'll see, though I'm not quite sold on you guys, I wish you the best of luck.

I never jumped on Ironton for scheduling the Canadian team. All I asked was why they would schedule someone from so far away. And then you throw a fit saying that I am bashing another program. I was actually complementing Ironton because they are so talented and I don't think that Minford is ready to play someone that good.

Very true.. consider this:

Johnstown Monroe 28 or 35 - Minford 7
Johnstown Monroe 28 - Frederickstown 7
Frederickstown 42 - Wheelersburg 40 or close to that
Wheelersburg 26 - Minford 20

That is a great scale because it proves Minford and Burg were really competitive and not just a lucky game for Minford. It also proves Johnstown Monroe was that much better than Minford. Teams mostly schedule based on area and since Burg/Minford are in SOC2 they must schedule SOC2 teams. Sometimes teams aren't that much better just by the program prestige that they have had 'over the years' ... it may be true, however, that conferences are stronger than others.

The only game that shows that the 2 schools are competitive is the on in which they played each other....take this into consideration:

Waverly 33 - Minford 2
Wheelersburg 31 - Waverly 7

This shows that its just how teams stack up and compare to strengths and weaknesses

This may be the case. But, I think that playing Ironton every year would just result in a loss for Minford. As much as I love Minford, they are not ready to play a team like that. Even when Ironton has down years they would still handle Minford and most other SOC teams for that matter. Those boys just play a different brand of football up there.

Possibly not but, it would be a good experience for them, and a great attendence gate for us @ Home.
I would like to see them pickup South Point, Rock Hill, or Chesepeake. OVC teams have been doing well as of lately.

When did Minford go 11-1-1, answer that?

How do you know he lives in Minford, or went to Minford for that matter, in the first place??

I don't know who said Minford went 11-1-1 but, I don't think that has ever happened.

That C.A.P.E. team with Carlos Snow was pretty nasty. Snow went on to play running back for the Buckeyes.

Yes that was the '85 team... and CAPE was extremely tough, i mean when the name of your school has "ACADEMY OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION" then you better be darn tough at every sport you offer... for some reason, i thought CAPE was revoked of the state championship that year because of eligibility violations or something similar.. not to mention CAPE would eventually fall apart...

Wasn`t that the same year they played @ Ironton, and CAPE came into that game #1 and Ironton was #2, and lost to the Tigers?

So if CAPE was revoked of their State Title in 1985, what did that do for Minford since they played them in the Ohio D-IV State Championship?

They did not play in the State championship, so it had no bearing on Minford.
