Athens 25 River Valley 15
Re: WK 9 TVC River Valley (6-2, 3-2) @ Athens (6-2, 4-0)
Well you look at their schedules and there's really nothing impressive about either of these 2 teams that make one jump out more then the other. Just going off similar opponents and the Athens offense right now. Going to go with Athens at home and by 3 scores.

I haven't seen Athens play this year but i would like to see River Valley beat them!

River Valley has played a bit of a light schedule, but I honestly think they were the better team at Meigs, but played a horrid first half, just like Meigs did the second half against Vinton County. River Valley has really done what they were supposed to do most of the time this season. Defensively, RV has been a different team since the second half of the Meigs game. I just believe they are where they need to be to win this game. I truly believe they are the second best team in the TVC Ohio behind NY. Obviously, Meigs injuries have factored into that.greygoose wrote:Well you look at their schedules and there's really nothing impressive about either of these 2 teams that make one jump out more then the other. I think getting to this point is very commendable......securing a winning season(3rd in school history)......I hope the RV players and coaches are unsatisfied......now its time to grab this opportunity ......games are won, or lost, days before they are played.....have a great week of practice....this will not be easy....but you can do it!!!
A win on Friday will put this group of young men tied atop of the list of best RV football seasons tied with last years playoff team.....AND......
And one step closer to getting back to the playoffs.....
RVHS-33
AHS-32
I hope RV's defense continues to impress.....they have been very stingy lately....
Go Raiders!!!!
Go #7!!!

Getting excited for tomorrow.....hoping RV had a great week of practice and that todays walk-thru goes well.....RV has been very fortunate this year and last year with not having any major injuries......I think that is a direct reflection of the core training that they have been doing in the off-season and a compliment to the training and coaching staff......
I was wondering if Athens has grass or turf? And if it rains today and maybe tomorrow, who does this favor, or does it change anything? Just some thoughts.......I have not seen Athens in person....but RV's lineman(with the exception of one or two) play one way....fresh-legs late in a slugfest might be the difference.....also, is Athens a predominant passing team or are they balanced?
I look for RV's defensive ends to have huge games......Watch out for Jacob(squared)......containing Sano from running outside and sacking him a couple times tomorrow.......
I am so pumped for the opportunity that this RV team has........we still control our playoff chances.....a lot of teams can no longer say that!!!
GO RAIDERS!!!

Athens has turf. They have a pretty awesome facility.
Athens loves to throw the ball but they are capable of running if they need/want to.
Athens has been known to give up points so if RV can force a couple turnovers they can keep it close.

Athens is a passing team. Sano 1,375 yards passing, 18 touchdowns 0 INT. 429 Yards rushing with 6 touchdowns. Those stats are from 6 games.
Running backs Tyler Roback (402 yards, 3 TDs) and Mikel Castell (432 yards, 6 TDs)
Athens biggest strength is the deep ball threat. Robert Dickleman and Trace Albin are averaging 23 yards per catch
This could turn into a track meet

Trace Albin was the starting QB but got hurt against Canal Winchester in the second half.HoopsHotHead wrote:Thanks for the info men.....0 INT's....THAT'S IMPRESSIVE!! And the leading rusher....

GAMEDAY!!!!......hope RV is ready.....and Athens is looking ahead to NY......gonna be brisk and damp......turnovers, or the lack of, might play a BIG role in deciding this one......I have not seen AHS play yet this year.....but they thought they would role RV last year and were beat by two touchdowns.....my point is.....very few people are giving RV a chance....I hope the coaches uses this info in his pre-game speech.....RV has grown this year...they are not the week 4/5 team anymore......IMO

Weather won't be an issue. Suppose to stop raining & field is turf.
