Well since its only been 6 years since we were State Runners Up, I guess were really on a roll and speeding up time.

Bleeding Red, Alphie's family has lived on the West Side for years and years. Their is absolutely nothing wrong. He will be scoring TD's and drilling people at safety very soon.

Wrong again. He was legal.

My advice to Minford would be to get their facts straight before they go accusing people of stuff of which they obviously don't have a clue on. I really don't think you want to face an even more motivated West team in a few weeks.

I heard the Bricker family has lived in Wheelersburg the last couple of years.

Chaze Southern was never a part of Portsmouth schools, or the football team this year, he didnt even play basketball last year for the trojans.

Another tough loss for the young Redmen... They played with West and had oportunities to cash in and even lead the game, but a missed 4th down attempt with a spot that went the other way and a blocked punt and the door was opened for West - who is a very good team this year... Rock Hill's spread offense gave the West secondary problems but when McCollister went down we became one dimensional... Malone (21) played with heart after being thrown in the fire at QB... Some other young players stepped up as well (Massey (11), Lyons (6), Roberts (20), Cooper (34), and others)... Davenport (12) had another solid game on both sides of the ball and It was good to have Brandon Guy (55) back until he went out with a shoulder injury... In all we (hopefully temporarily) lost McCollister (10), Guy (55), Wilds (OL), and a couple more guys... In the end West proved too strong and Bricker is a great athlete... Hopefully the Redmen can recoup and regroup before next week at Wheelersburg... I heard that McCollister had some knee swelling, but they think he'll be okay... somebody fell on his leg after a play... he would be listed as questionable for next week I would think, but we'll see... I have not heard about Guy's injury, hopefully he will bounce back quickly... No report on Wilds yet, but he is a tough kid and hopefully his injuries are not serious... I thought the Redmen showed some fight tonight and should keep their heads up... again there were some positive things that happened in the midst of the route... you have to keep building on it... we'll get another crack at West next year at the Hill and hopefully we will be a year older and in a better position to extend to them the same experience they granted us tonight.

Rock Hill has some good young players. The QB is a good one. West played really bad tonight, but some of that credit has to go to RH for playing hard. Next year I'm sure you'll be more competitive like RH has for a long time. West will be talented but young at spots next year also and I'm sure it will be a good game.

This game should be online by morning at http://www.nextvsports.com (Watch the post game portion for all the replays of the scores)

We really enjoyed our visit to Portsmouth West tonight. We were treated very nice by everyone. As for the game, it really wasn't as bad as the score appears. Rock Hill showed some great signs of strength but fell victom to the turnover demon. Take away the 5 or 6 turnovers they had and it was a much closer game. West had their share of fumbles as well but managed to recover all but 1 I believe. Congrats to West on their victory and good luck to both the teams on the rest of their season.

If west fans can be happy over a very young team such as rock hill, saddle up cowboys you're going for a ride.I have heard the talk of a state championship title,i personally think you'll be lucky to make it out of the first round!I personally think that rock hill was given every oppurtunity to take this game away and failed, but let me say that west was able to capitilize on every mistake that the hill made. The score is not indicative of the game.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>ELERT ..................ANY TEAM THAT PLAYS WEST IS CAPABLE OF BEATING THEM.................THEY ARE SERIOUSLY OVER RATED.........THEY BEAT A VERY YOUNG R-H TEAM.........GOOD LUCK SIDERS REST OF YEAR,I THINK YOU'LL NEED IT!!!!!!!!!

so with Ohio St laying the egg last week with Ohio, I guess that means they shouldn't even fly out to California for tonight with your logic.

these are kids. Its easy to say play your best. Get ready for every game the same, etc. They knew that Rock Hill couldn't beat them and if you had watched them for the first 3 weeks, it was quite clear that they never took them serious. These boys can play some football when they want to.

Sloppy, sloppy game but in the end, they got the job done. I love the 2 QBs, Brickers pass to Morgan was sweet. These kids are had to deal with alot but inthe end, the job was very convincing.
Congrats boys!

I believe West is the real deal, but that said, they must tighten up their pass defense and cut down on turnovers... the hand offs in the back field were shakey at times and the back didn't get a good transfer... these are things I'm sure they will get better at... plus they probably were looking a little past a young RH team that seems to be getting a little better each week... they showed they could move the ball in their spread no huddle offense against a quality opponent... Give West the credit... they have a very good team and could go undefeated... finnally, everyone we talked with there was friendly and helpful... we had a enjoyable night of high school football... I just hope everyone recoups before next week.

someone better lighyt a fire under their buts then, if you want to run deep in the play offs, you need to take EVERY TEAM serious that you play.

I think West has every chance of going undefeated, they will no doubt be tested along the way though...worry about one game at a time, they will be fine.
