Interesting commentary over on the Yappi site about Clinton Massie & Wilmington's position on this that they may be getting squeezed out as the western-most schools.

Could be idle bluster, could have some merit. Have to wait and see.

News coming out tomorrow about the future of the SCOL.

Clinton Massie will be an interesting free agent. Oh and I wouldn't want to be an opponent of CM next football season now.

Is this inside news, or has this been posted somewhere?

It'll be posted tomorrow. Not 100% on all the details, so I don't want to post any bad information for the remaining teams or any future teams either.

This line up for a reconfigured SCOL would have some appeal in terms of competition and continuation of a few rivalries. Throw in two of either Unioto, Circleville, and Logan Elm and you might have something workable. The downside again would be travel times to and from Jackson for the Fayette and Highland County schools. As a long shot, Logan could even be shoe horned into a new SCOL. Of course there is always a disclaimer: unless actual word comes from the AD's of the involved schools. the story line is only speculation at best and rumor at worst.

At some point, not to wish any bad luck on another league (MSL) but I really think Logan Elm, Unioto and Circleville would be huge gets for that listing above Omega.

Originally there was supposed to be something on March 7th, has that timetable been moved up?

Don't count out Waverly, but I think they would stay in the SOC if all of this actually happens.

In the off chance Unioto would bolt the SVC, I think that is where Waverly may really want to be. SOC II or SVC are both good fits for Waverly.

There will definitely be some invites put out to some of the schools mentioned. I'm still unsure about what Unioto would do from a purely financial aspect. If Circleville and Logan Elm are invited, don't be surprised if Westfall is as well.

That's true too. There are many teams in play, for this new league if it happens including Jackson and even Logan as a longer shot. Definitely something to watch.

SVC-(New) SCOL merger can't be ruled out either. Lots of shakeups coming to leagues all around if numerous teams are added.

Unioto to the SCOL would open a move for Waverly to the SVC then Jackson to the SOC 2 assuming no Ironmen move to the SCOL.
I know Waverly to the SVC would be a great competitive fit for the Tigers given the current economics of the community. The combinations are nightmarish. Just hope something works out for both Jackson and Logan and everyone can live happily ever after.

If the above speculation is accurate or to some degree accurate, I believe at some point Unioto, Logan Elm, Circleville are all in play, not to mention some sort of arrangement as discussed above with the SVC for a "small" team division.

I like the idea of Jackson in the above group (with the potential adds) more so than anything I have heard to date.

If this happens and Jackson finds a home, kudos to the administration for rolling their sleeves up and getting this done. What a grind it has been. If it doesn't happen still kudos for exploring every option.

I think Portsmouth, Ironton, and Ironton St. Joe would be accepted into the SOC before Jackson would and even then, they probably wouldn't get accepted.

Honestly this above SCOL "possible - reiterate possible" alignment is perhaps the best option for Jackson once the TVC decided to not pursue a "big school" division to go with Athens.

I would have liked the TVC option with Athens, GA (before they left), Logan, Warren, VC in a division simply because of the existing rivalries. SOC and OVC never really was going to mesh well given the school size difference.

So now hopefully - reiterate hopefully if we get an opportunity we will need to forge some new rivalries. Chillicothe sort of already exists with resepct to football.

Seriously?

Valley, West, maybe I have misunderstood some of their past successes.

Good luck to Jackson, SCOL be silly to let them get away. Very loyal league member that will travel well and compete in a variety of sports.

Valley has been good but I would not want to watch Jackson / valley the next 10 years

West is an average program

Minford about the Same

So yeah seriously .

Abe , I know you're a Jackson supporter and I appreciate that but we're talking Jackson to soc2. Much respect to Burg
