On another note, the weather looks to be a factor. Wheelersburg has scored at will all season. With the exception of the only (last) cold game they played in, when they managed only one score (I know they were close to scoring 2 other times, but they didn't). Weather looks to be worse this weekend. How will this play into the game? It will effect the passing game from both teams.
Burg and Valley have become a very good and tough Rivalry I think when two good teams as those two are and knowing each other as well it makes it tough to score and be scored up on.
I don't think it was as much the cold as it was 2 coaches knowing each others teams strengths and weakness.

"If" Hartley wins this game, it WILL NOT be a blowout! For those who say it is needs to look at the schedule.
Hartley has blown out 1 team with a winning record, Withrow!

Burg may lose! Burg may win! Who knows?
It will not be a blowout by either team!
Don't give me that Burg isn't as good as the teams Hartley has played cause they wouldn't be here if not!

I've also heard Hartley doesn't travel well. So if you want Burg to win, show up and show them you want them to!
The more support the better!!!

24-21 BURG!!

I am hoping Burg can find a way to pull this one out.....but it is hard to beat the really good private schools.

It will be a battle, but i'm picking Hartley by a score of something like 35-7 or 35-14. Not disrespecting Wheelersburg, just my honest prediction after watching the Fairland, Valley, and Martins Ferry films. However, I wont be surprised if the game is closer.

Go HAWKS!

You are right, Hartley has only blown out 1 team with a winning record. Hartleys' wins over good teams, such as St. Charles, Marion Franklin, Liberty Union were never in question, regardless of how close the score indicated it was. When Hartley is playing their best football, they just flat out control the game and keep the ball away from the other team.

Indeed! Thats what worries me about this game!
Hartley is that good! Burg may not win this game, but I do not in any way believe it will be a blowout!
I'm standing behind my team though! Hopefully its a clean called/played game, with no injuries! It'll be a great game!

That being said GO BURG!!!

Nice to have you come aboard and talk for your team. Burg's defense is better than given credit for. Holding Fairland to 21 points and Valley to 10 is better than someone would think. Burg can win this team even though most say they can't. They will have to be near perfect to do so but that's what it takes to advance. Holding the Hartley's 21 in check will be a key. They do a nice job of using him out in space.

Yeah, I used to be signed up with SEOP a couple years ago, but couldn't locate my username and password. Im typically roaming the forums on JJ.
I have no doubt that Wheelersburg can win. It's high school football and anything can happen. Heck remember when Ironton spanked us in the regular season in 2010, and we came back to beat them in the regional final. No one thought we would win that one.

I still cant believe its already week 13.

Obviously, the people who are the true Hartley fans probably aren't responsible for all of these quotes, but the fact that they are checking out this forum and also checking out Burgfan.com shows me that there is at least some respect being given to Burg from their true fans.
None of these came from real Hartley fans. They came from accounts that were just made within the past couple days.

No, Southeast Ohio football would be better off if they removed themselves from the evil empire of the OHSAA and ran there own tourney. Yeah, you are right, we can not compete year in and year out with all of the private schools around the big cities that have the pick of the best athletes while all of the SE football teams have to rely on homegrown talent and an occasional move in to even compete with the juggernaut called the OHSAA.

Weather is not looking to be good calling for cold rain if I heard correct.
How will that affect either team?
