You mean like the OU coach who moved in, lived in Athens, but who's daughter transferred to Alexander and helped lead them to a state championship?

along with the other girl from Athens who transferred with her?

is that the kind of move in you're referring too?

I thought Meigs was D3 in basketball and baseball? I'm fairly certain they are in baseball. I'm not sure why Athens fans are so opposed to going back to the SEOAL? It would be much better competition that would better prepare them for the post season. I love the TVC, but Athens playing VC, Alex, Wellston in football is not going to get them more prepared than playing Jackson, Gallia, Warren, Logan, Marietta..I know you play several of those teams on your non-league schedule, but if you had them in your league, you'd be able to schedule a tougher non-league..Ironton, Wheelersburg, etc. Plus with Zanesville and Chillicothe out of the league, the travel wouldn't be nearly as bad.

If the ohio is so balanced why is div 6 NY in the ohio and not the hocking. Take football out of the picture.. How about we place people in the ohio and hocking based on their girls softball strength..

So what is the breakdown of League titles since Athens joined the TVC?
Parity====nonexistent
If you can't see the distinct advantages Athens has, you are blinded by greed!!!!!!!!!
If Athens is to stay in the league, bigger teams need to join and then divide into 3.......................

They just don't understand it.
Lets explain it like this:
You got a Walmart store and a dollar general. First thing you notice is Walmart is much bigger store than DG. Therefore you have much more to choose from. DG does ok but they have to make do with what they have because they just dont have the vast amount of products that walmart has. So walmart is much more competitive with all others becuase you have so much more to choose from than the smaller stores. Now as far as demographics go. I may put a walmart in Macauthur but with the population spread out so vastly it would far better be suited for a Dollar General because the people wont travel in as often as they would if I would put a walmart in athens. Now its no problem to make the short trip to wallyworld because I only live a few minutes away. Now we gotta pay taxes. Shouldnt Dollar general pay the same taxes that Big Box walmart pays. its only fair. NO because Walmart is able to do a lot more business because of their geographic locations and their vast amount of products in their store, so its olny fair they be put in different tax brackets...

The regional computer ratings came out this morning and the bullpuppies dropped to 2nd place mainly because of there weak schedule. Marion Franklin moved to #1 with a 6-1 record!

Sort of like Western Brown and Springfield Shawnee in Region 10, both 7-0 but behind Wapakoneta (6-1)? Or sort of like Hubbard in Region 7, 7-0 but behind Chesterland West Geauga (6‐1)? Or sort of like Sandusky Perkins in Region 8, 7-0 but behind Norwalk (6-1) and Clyde (6-1)? There are several other leagues throughout the state that have more disparity between divisions than the TVC.

Be honest, this disdain many of you have is not about leagues, divisions, or how much you feel sorry for the other schools in the league. It's simply about Athens. The reason I say that is because whether Athens is winning or losing they are the topic of conversation. When WINNING the talk is they are too big, they don't belong, they have advantages, blah blah blah. When LOSING the talk is jabs and shots about how they can't compete with the big dogs....

It will never end. If Athens goes all the way to the state finals it will be because they have OU coaches kids and that's not fair. If they lose in the districts they will be laughed at because of their weak schedule. The disdain for Athens is amusing, like a bunch of crybabies whining about getting picked on at the playground.

Region 9 ‐ 1. Cols. Marion‐Franklin (6‐1) 15.2643, 2. The Plains Athens (7‐0) 15.25, 3. Chillicothe (6‐1) 13.0714, 4.
Circleville Logan Elm (6‐1) 12.9143, 5. Dover (5‐2) 12.0306, 6. Cols. Brookhaven (5‐2) 11.3947, 7. New Philadelphia
(6‐1) 10.9357, 8. Granville (5‐2) 9.8857,

I think you would like to be in the top 4 so you get a home game. other than that any of the 8 can win the region. these no. will change by the end of the season. Athens is still (Projected 27.35 Harbin points (divisor 100), projected #1 seed).

You hit the nail right on the head. They are winning because they are in a small school league and they cant run with the big dogs. very well said tyler.

I don't think anyone cares bud. If you want to know so bad I'm sure they probably have them hanging on banners in their gym. If your school gets better and starts beating them then maybe they can hang some in their own gym.

A lot of you keep missing the point that a few have tried to make here. If Athens is ranked so high in the REGION and have enough computer points to be in the top 4, and even projected to be a #1 seed, then the competition they've played must not be too "small fish."

Athens has a talented bunch of boys and that is what counts. Most schools will have what Athens has at times and they probably had everything said to them that Athens has being said. Most important thing is these boys and their true fans love it and enjoy it. Athens will be proud of the last few years and even next. There will always be negatives and positives and if I was from Athens I would be walking with my head high. They are from southeastern Ohio and come play off time i will be backing the Bulldogs.

This same garbage was spewed Trimble's way in the early 2000's. Even people from Logan and Athens were joining in on the fun. Then when Wahama came into the league people, including those from Logan and Athens, cheered "FINALLY!" "Someone to challenge Trimble's weak schedule." The latter will come true for Athens when Jackson comes into the TVC in a few short years.

with just a quick count in the gym, looks like Athens is at about 41 and counting with volleyball, cross country and football this year. and ALL other schools in the tvc have won 12 combined this is since 2008. Thats pretty even.. With 5 of those 12 being in softball by someone other than athens :-D

That's great for Athens. Hopefully this is the motivational piece needed to get the other schools in the league to step it up a notch.

if were talking just football:

2011 ... Athens (10-0) ... Jackson (10-0) ... Athens was the No. 2 seed, Jackson was the No. 7 seed ... gotta love that 'soft schedule'
2012 ... Athens loses to Gallia academy in the regular season ... but ... Athens was the No. 3 seed and Gallia was the No. 4 seed ... once again, the soft schedule strikes again.
2013 ... Athens may be No. 2 now, but lets wait until after week 10 ... most projections have Athens as the No. 1 if they win out.

Numbers and facts make no difference in the minds of delusional men. If this hard evidence won't convince them, then all it will do is reveal the truth about their disdain, which I have already illustrated.

Meigs will be D2 for the next two years baseballstud ... you won't have to worry about them in the D3 tournament in Chillicothe my friend ... I mean, you still have Wheelersburg to worry about, but the Marauders won't be there.
