Congrats to Nelsonville York on a good season and the TVC Championship.

The Minford Falcon O-line just dominated the LOS after the 1st quarter. It was evident who the dominate team was in trenches as Minford rushed for over 350 yards, and had close to 400 yards of offense overall. Nelsonville just didn't seem to have an answer for Minford's running attack. That was the first time this season Minford has clicked on all cylinders and I bet it continues.

Wouldn't mind seeing this series picked back up again. It's a bus ride and a half but it would make both teams better and prepare them for playoff competition.

Great game played by both teams tonight. Nothing to be ashamed of bucks you played hard and until the end but Minford was just the better team and wanted the win more. You had a great season winning the tvc and making it to the playoffs. Woulda liked to see the game go the other way but it didnt. If Minford continues playing like this they can win the region. Good job bucks were all proud of u get in the weightroom and get ready for the 2011 season and another tvc championship.

Sloan is a sledge hammer very good 38 carries are you kidding me. I thought N-Y looked great early moved the ball very well however some injuries and the score changed the game plan. Minford is a very good team and has a huge rematch with Oak Hill. I really thought this would be a very close game with N-Y being there at the end. Minford is much better than I thought good luck.

This team showed up tonight. The line play was fantastic on both sides of the ball! The best it has been all season! Minford seems to be clicking on all cylinders right now. Sloan ran like he had a chip on his shoulder while Gaines and Piguet provided good blocking as well as some decent runs of their own. I know the boys are already looking for the Mighty Oaks. It should be a good one!

Nelsonville you guys played hard and are a very good team! I wish you the best of luck next year and to the seniors the best of luck in your future paths in life!

See that call confused me, because the false start was on Nelsonville as the Wing Back jumped forward just before the ball snapped. The play was allowed to continue. The UMP said, it was a dead ball foul, but they didn’t blow the play dead...... Minford's NG (Lore) shot the gap and met the FB in the backfield and dropped him, so shouldn't have Minford been allowed to declince the penalty and take over on downs?? Instead, Nelsonville gets a retry and 4 & 5 when Minford stopped them at 4 and inches and scores. Whatever, the crew was good they let the boys play and only called what needed to be called to keep the game under control. I guess the NY WB jumped first and the ref didn't get his whistle fast enough so the play should have never happened in the first place.

IMO: The Oak Hill, Minford game does not and should not be played in Jackson Co or Scioto Co
with the magnitude of this game to be fair for both sides it should be played in another county that way it rules out getting home field advantage for either team.
By just reading the comments from the first meeting this year between the to could you imagine
if the team won this game in their home county this topic would still be smoking this time next year LOL:

^ The game should be played at Ironton in Tank Stadium. Ironton plays Friday night, so there will be a staff there on Saturday.

I think Jackson would be fine. Yes it is in Oak Hill's county, but lets face it, its not that far for either team and they have nice facilities.

OHSAA appoints the officiating crews for all playoff games so it will be the same crew no matter where they play.

I would rather play at Jackson than the tank. It is closer for both teams.

According to OHSAA rules a false start is a dead ball foul, therefore the play can't start. Congrats to Minford and good luck next week.

That's why the ref said dead ball fall, false start when he made the announcement. However, the play should have been blown dead. I am glad the yellow laundry stayed off the field for the most part and the refs let the kids play the game.

Congrats to Minford on a very impressive win. Had the fumble out of the end zone not occurred, it would have been 33-6, which indicates even more that Minford completely dominated this game after NY scored. They moved the ball at will and the defense made some outstanding stops on 4th and short, as well as throughout the game. There are a few things Minford needs to work on and they know it better than any of us. They will be prepared for next Saturday night. Expect a knock-down, drag out when Minford and Oak Hill face off, as both teams will come in with a chip on their shoulder. Good luck Minford. Bring home win # 10 of the season next Saturday!

Valley won't let anyone else play in their stadium, at least that's what I've been told and it seems true they've never hosted a 2nd round game. With Jackson losing tonight they would be a good choice, since I think they favor the higher seed I'd say it ends up there. Portsmouth would be a good location too, but I doubt they make the #1 seed travel that far.
Valley can't host a game because they don't have a fence around their field which I'm sure is one of the stipulations for hosting a 2nd round or beyond game. They can host a home game in round one, but that's it so it has nothing to do with not wanting to let anyone else play on their field.

As for the game, congrats to the Falcons on the big win. It really didn't surprise that much since the TVC isn't that strong of a conference. Now we get to see if the earlier win over Oak Hill was a fluke and only happened because the QB was out. The Oaks are at full strength now.

Why would you play this game at one of the worst facilities in southern Ohio? Sure, Tank Stadium has a great tradition and great atmosphere, but they have the worst visitors section in the area and in no way can hold the crowd this game will produce. Unless everyone is fine standing 4 to 5 deep along the fence to watch a huge game. Play it in Portsmouth. Neither team has played there and it would be a neutral site.

Neither team has played in Jackson either.

Oak Hill is the #1 seed...it should be a little closer for them

12 miles for Oak Hill
23 miles for Minford

Jackson is easily the most logical choice.
