Re: Pioneer Valley Conf Pickem week 6
brother told me that Woodsfield middle school team hasn't played any home games and only two games total this year because they aren't allowed to play on the field. Seems like it would hurt your program and upset some people if it is pay to participate. He said word was the field was a mess and they didn't want to tear it up any more.

The middle school and youth programs have never been allowed to play on MCs field if it is even slightly wet. I think all the fields in this area are a little worse for wear right now. Monroes field has only had one high school game played on it in the last four weeks. Hopefully good weather for the rest of the week will help out!

Drove by Fort Frye field this week, and it looks to be in good shape. Guess it helped to have away games the last two weeks, but it will be soft, with all the rain we had last Saturday.

This comes up every year. No, the middle school doesn't play on the field after hard rains (which we had several inches of rain before the Fort Frye game). It's just the way it is run. I wish the community would come together and find a way to develop a field with a little bit of bleachers for jr. high and pee wee games.
If MC beats Barnesville they will likely host a game week 11. Two years ago we had to move a home playoff game to Marietta College because our field was not fit to be played on. It was the right decision, but it robbed us of having that home field atmosphere. Any efforts to preserve the field so we can play week 11 in Woodsfield (if we are so lucky) then I'm all for.

what I heard was that the drains had collapsed due to all the rain causing the field inaccessible.
