Trimble @ Coal Grove "makeup game" will take place in 2014

I don't think a loss or not playing a team makes a difference at all ... You recieve 0 points for the week if you lose - you recieve 0 points if you don't play. It does though kind of hurt teams who played Coal Grove, if Coal Grove happened to win the game - or - vice versa for teams who played Trimble.

Athens could have benefited from a Coal Grove win - Nelsonville-York would have if Trimble won.

As for Coal Grove - I don't know their circumstances - we'll have to see how it plays out.

If the game isnt played Trimbles level 1 points are divided by 9, if it is palyed their level 1 points are divided by 10. So yes this game does matter. If they win out and dont play this game their level 1 points will be 2.833. If the game is played their level 1 points will be 2.55. That .283 could make a difference in seeding. They need to nut up and play the game.

I forgot to look at the first level. Trimble will greatly benifit if this one isn't played. They r going to win out and be 7-2, but if this game is played they will b 7-3 and .8 lower in playoff points and looking at the region they would move from 5th to 8th

I say play the damned game and get it over with. If Phil wont coach them I am sure his brother LR will. LR knows more football anyway and if he takes his TV partner with him to the sidelines they might just beat Grove. Those guys know waaaayyyy more football than what they sound like they do on TV.

Not trying to stir anything up, but if this game was scheduled, why wasn't it played? Any way you want to look at it, this game should be played because of all the other teams looking to get into the playoffs are the ones who will be on the outside looking in, but if this game had been played it might change the ranking. Thanks for any information on how this issue of these two teams playing came up in the first place.

It wasn't played because Thurs. night beofre the original game WSAZ ran a story about meningitis going around @ CG. So out of fear Trimble did not want to play. I partly blame CG because they did not call Trimble earlier in the week to tell them that a few students had it and that the game would still be played just a friendly warning would have eased the fears. But when you hear it on the 11 oclock news the night before i can see the fear! However it still should have been played. Our middle school played them that Thurs. and not one kid ended up sick! We however knew nothing of the outbreak until we get home after the game! I still say play the game becasue this is not only affecting Trimble but other schools as well.

Rumor has it that if the OHSAA says the game should be played and Trimble does not play then there could be possible sanctions. Don't know how true this is.
