I seen him play a little bit of tight end earlier in the year the kids has some hands would make a great run blocker as well as recieving option he is very athletic and has a great attitude

After looking at the gahs preview done by locos, the O-Line looks to give up some size. And besides a couple on the defensive side of the ball also gives up size. But, that's on paper and size doesn't always matter when you have speed.
I'll take GA by 2 scores or less.

with this game being played at GAHS i will give the edge to them, but with Athens back field this should be a great game to watch. Good luck to both hope you have great seasons.....

Well it's offically game week! Athens may have lost a key starting D lineman in last nights scrimmage against Trimble after what looked to be a significant ankle injury, we'll hope it isn't as bad as it looked and he'll be ready Friday night.

Gallia looked better against Meigs... Athens should bring more to the table.. Should be a good test for both teams. Special teams could decide this one. I will go with Gallia in a close one...

I say 7 points either way. I think Dogs have speed advantage!

87 and a chance of thunderstorms.... This game may come down to conditioning in the second half....Gallias field won't stand much water.....Field looks great from the stands but if you take a look a ground level it looks like a stormy ocean.....LOL

I think Athens has a slight speed advantage and most likely the best player that will suit up either way but, the Bulldogs tend to struggle at Memorial so I'd call this one a coin flip going in. Also while I think Josh Skinner is a good kid and a good player, he needs to settle into his new role as starting QB. He hasn't looked comfortable yet and has forced some throws that have been easy turnovers for the defenses. I hope the coaching staff gives him the quick type one read pass plays so he can either hit the open guy fast or tuck it and get what he can. I'm sure after a few weeks and a little confidence he'll improve.

A classic matchup of speed vs. power. I expect to see Skinner get loose for some long gains, but I think that GA's power game will grind out the clock and wear Athens down in the second half.

Keys to a GA victory:
Get to Skinner quick - don't let him get loose
Hit Skinner at every opportunity - wear him down and get in his head
Grind down the field and burn the clock up
Hold onto the ball and keep penalties to a minimum

I expect a close game, but will give GA the edge at home.

Skinner will likely be handing the ball to DeVon Sharp and Chris Russell more than he'll be throwing it aroung and running himself and if I'm wrong Gallia will win easily.

I knew this. I just think that Skinner could be more easily rattled into making a few mistakes.
