This is true. I've been watching this freshmen group for a while now and when the varsity coaching staff gets hold of them they'll compete with anyone. Remember.........coaching at that age is 99% of winning and losing.

Once any team moves up to varsity it should be different. Doesn't mean they will win if they win at the freshman level either. Depends on factors like who quits between now and then, who transfers in,injuries, who grows, who develops attitude, who has to get a job, who doesn't work in off season, who is in the class below and above, etc etc. Soooo, talent and luck have alot to do with high school football. The Lutz era is over. Ironton is just another coaching staff and team now.

With irontons tradition they'll never be just another team but I do agree with you urban buck about the coaching staff. Trying to replace Bob Lutz at ironton is like replacing Woody Hayes at Ohio State! ( you can't do it)

I agree. Basically Ironton has a boatload of talent and maturity this year. This would be a dream team for most coaches. Losing Lutz and losing 21 seniors. Transfers are a thing of the past. I also agree that every school can say the same about the varsity getting ahold of the younger players. Not rocket science

then what
