I'll pick West Jeff.

New season, same old Paladin.

This time, I don't really think your schedule bashing is justified. There's no point in me stating a case, though, is there?

Looks like this is a battle of experience vs. youth.

West Jeff has 10 seniors starting on offense and 9 on defense. Jackson really only has 2 seniors that play extensively, period. That experience is certainly a great advantage to have, but as long as Jackson's young guys can execute, that's all that matters.

This Jackson team seems to play with a chip on their shoulder. They're a confident group with plenty of attitude, so I'm sure that they believe in themselves. They know they can win this game, and they're looking forward to the chance to prove themselves against a program like West Jeff.

The Roughriders have been to the playoffs six times since Coach Buescher took over the program, and were the regional runner-up in five of those appearances (2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2011). Their program has won FOUR STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS (1962, 1976, 1977, and 1982 - '62 and '77 were AP titles though). I don't care if they're D5 or D100, they would absolutely hammer 90% of the teams in the SE quadrant of the state. This is a BIG game, and will give Jackson a good idea of what they have this season.

Coming from Mr.Former Logan Coach? Isn't Logan scheduling Meigs next season? That should prepare them for the Super Bowl. Jackson is facing 3 non-league teams in 3 consecutive weeks that could very well be playing for regional championships....but go ahead and laugh I suppose. It's very funny.

There are numerous northern Ohio football forums, since we make you laugh down here why don't you hang out on those forums where you can regale those fans with all your wonderful, all knowing, all seeing, football wisdom and expertise now (since that didn't serve you too well when it mattered). Fact of the matter West Jefferson is a rich football program with numerous appearances in post-season play and you know that notwithstanding being DV, so you really went out on a limb picking them, since everyone knows that they are actually a "favorite" to win by a good number of posters knowledgeable about this match-up.

Really radical of you to pick West Jefferson, so if they do happen to win don't think you called some major DV over DIII upset, when that was never the case anyway.

WJ DV played Marion Local DVI or DVII (pretty sure they dropped this year to 7??) last week and got beat by a perennial powerhouse that could most likely compete in Divisions 4-7 most years. It is not about the Division and you know it, and with respect to Jackson's scheduling I don't think our non-conference schedule with West Jefferson, Athens, Wheelersburg, and Greenfield McClain can be considered padding a schedule this year.

So even though you (and a lot of people) picking an experienced senior-laden West Jefferson team, I will stick with our young Ironmen. Win or lose a lot of good will emerge from this game and how they face and prepare for Athens and Burg.

I honestly think you have SE Ohio envy, sort of a passive-aggressive thing because when you were here you were not very good, and now that you are gone no one wants to listen to the petty, mind-numbing, smallness of 99% of your posts or comments. For some strange reason Paladin and tool bag keep coming to me and I am having a really hard time not putting them together in one coherent sentence.

Not really surprising. West Jeff is an extremely talented team with big expectations this season. This will make Jackson better in the end of playing against such a good team.
