Another thing I'd like to see happen is the Southern Hills Athletic Conference start sponsoring football. Right now, they have 2 schools that sponsor football, another 2 schools with varsity club football, and 1 other school with I think only pee wee and junior high football. It would certainly help those currently with football schedule easier and cut down on travel and maybe with football being sponsored, other conference schools would add football and get an 8 to 10 team football conference started in their neck of the woods.

I would like to see Oak Hill move up to SOC II.
I think that Oak Hill and Northwest are both too big to be in the SOC I. However, moving to the SOC II probably wouldn't be good for their programs right now. I like You're Tiger Bait's suggestion of combining the OVC and the SOC but only for football. There could be three competitive divisions that way.

I'm curious to see how Tiger Bait proposes on combining the OVC and SOC, other sports with the current set up wouldn't be too hard other than scheduling (3 divisions of 8 teams), but aligning Football would probably be the hardest with currently 12 teams in the SOC and 8 in the OVC.

This idea might seem a little far fetched but how about dissolving the PVC and that league over in WV, the LKC, and getting about 10 like-sized schools to create a new league. Get like Tyler Consolidated, St. Marys, Magnolia, Monroe Central, Barnesville, Fort Frye, Williamstown, River, possibly Frontier and Doddridge and come up with a new name for the league.

they could do it similar to what the big ten does. minus the conference championship game of course.

on second thought. that would not make sense without being able to prove it on the field somehow. but I still like the idea.
it works everywhere else with 15 n 20 teams in leagues.

West, Wheelersburg, and Valley have already won the OVC most of this decade.

6-6-8
It wouldn't be an easy task but it is possible to find a balance between size, geography, and competition.

Honestly, I'd like an OVC-SOC merger if Gallia Academy is left out and St. Joe is included. You have St. Joe in SOC I and you drop down South Webster and then SOC I has 10 teams with 2 divisions of 5 teams in the main sports excluding football. SOC II and the OVC would have 7 teams each (with Northwest and Oak Hill both moving back to SOC II in Football) that would play their own 6 conference games and 2 or 3 OVC-SOC II games including 1 protected game that will always be played annually (Burg-Ironton, Ptown-West, Valley-CG, Waverly-SP, Minford-Fairland, NW-RH/Peake, OH-RH/Peake; still haven't decided the later 2 protected games). Basketball and Volleyball would have their own 12 conference games and 4 OVC-SOC II games including the 1 protected game. Softball and Baseball would have their own 12 conference games and 7 OVC-SOC II games, and the protected rival could be played home and home annually to make 8 OVC-SOC II games to make an even 20 games. Just a thought.

And then if you get a 24 team OVC-SOC league together, that may cause the TVC to persue 8 or 10 more members and then it would get the 4 SEOAL members a new home with its former members. I'd be thinking they'd get the members suggested by Jackson's mayor (maybe even add the 2 Parkersburg schools), but use a 10-8-6, 10-7-7, or 10-8-8 (H-O-S) format rather than a 6-6-6-6 format. The Hocking Division with the addition of Froniter would use the same 2 divisions of 5 teams format as SOC I would, but would also use it for football as well. The Ohio Division would add Crooksville and Fort Frye while Athens goes to the Southeastern Division. The Southeastern Division would include Athens, Gallia, Jackson, Logan, Marietta, and Warren and possibly the 2 Parkersburg schools if they'd wish to join as well. If the 2 Parkersburg schools would not join, Vinton County could move over to the Southerstern Division, but I would find it very unlikely to ever happen. All 3 divisions use the 7 conference games for football and 14 conference games for Basketball, Volleyball, Baseball, and Softball except for the Southeastern Division if the Parkersburg schools would not join. But even if an OVC-SOC merger never happens and the TVC never goes up to 24 or 26 schools, I would love for the SEOAL to somehow survive and maintain 6-8 members and seeing how larger WV schools are attempting to realign, even 10 schools would be possible if everything worked out correctly, but I guess this is all just a bunch of crazy ideas that will probably never happen.

We are taking the TVC to 36 teams and will have 18 division's!
It's gonna be epic!

I think the TVC missed the boat when they had a chance to add the remaining seoal schools And going to 4 divisions of 5 schools. They would've had playoff teams everywhere and the TVC brand would be second to no one south of Columbus .

Yeah, I can agree with that statement Viking. I think if the TVC expands, they go for Fort Frye and Frontier. Jackson and Logan probably wouldn't join after being rejected so much. Warren looks like they're gone for the ECOL to join Marrieta if they're smart enough to take that opportunity. I doubt Gallia leaves the OVC unless they could return to an SEOAL that can be reunited and stabilized, which would be a 6+ team SEOAL that will probably never happen unless the schools can come together to make it happen.

Yeah that ship has sailed. Oh well . Well see what the future holds . Logan and warren will find a home soon. Jackson will thrive as an independent . Playing some strong schools will strengthen the program .

I just wish there would have been a way to have kept the SEOAL schools together and brought back Athens and Marietta like over a decade ago before the fatal expansion and bring back stability to the conference. Maybe could've even added a couple WV schools if possible who are looking to leave the MSAC and find new homes. It would've also got Athens out of the TVC Ohio schools' hair.

And I got to agree with the bandit, Logan is probably gonna be independent too unless there's some more conference realignment in the Columbus area that'll work towards Logan's favor.

Just saw on Facebook that Wetern Pike is starting a flag football program.
