The Guru had the best post game show in this area to date. Although I do hope they take a note from last year and talk a lot about tailgaters and cook-offs.

Yes he had a great show on both the Nelsonville and Logan stations. Hope one of them brings him back so we can have something to listen to and get a good laugh now and then.

I really liked his "egg timer" that he used to tell him when to give the scores. Listened to him talk for an hour after that thing went off one night. He never did give the scores but I didn't care cause he had me laughing so hard I forgot about wanting to hear the scores.

I remember that cell phone call Bolt, coming back from Portsmouth to give him some scores. He was nice to talk to even over the phone. Had me laughing on there.

One thing I have learned about being in the media - you can never please everyone. You provide a humorous show like the one Jim hosted, and the 'football minded' folks want more football talk. You give them that, and the other group wishes it was more humorous. You talk about one team too much, fans from the other side of the county don't like it. You talk about their team after a win, and folks from a different side of the county are displeased.

Hopefully this years show on 105.5 will possess a healthy balance.

Guru was funny and had some substance. But he didn't try to be funny. Some folks think they are funny but they really are not. Some think they are really knowledgeable and try to show that they are on their show. Some insist on talking about themselves. Guru was funny without trying to be, and he related to the audience well. He did not take himself too seriously though, which is a mistake that some others have made. Hopefully the guys on this show won't make those mistakes. I know Ferns won't. I don't know anything about the other two though.

I think this season will offer a great balance of football insight, good times, scores and football knowledge. I think we have enough personalities to please the masses and I am excited for what the listeners will get after the game. With our preview show, our games and the post game show; you wont find better coverage for Athens County and beyond.
