SOC II Predictions

I don't know how you could watch the burgs D in week 1 and not be impressed. They gave Ironton fits. To hold ironton to 189 total yds is very impressive.

Derf_W, i completely agree... i would love to see minford pick up rock hill (i think that would go a long way points wise) ... theres a lot of rumble about oak hill this year, but who knows... they didnt prove it last friday..

and for the sake of the SOCII, no offense to Northwest, but northwest should be out of the SOCII. They are not building a program in this conference, and I think those EAST TARTANS would like a shot.. Now whether they end up like valley or even NW is to be determined.. just a thought..

Minford would benefit from a stronger schedule because it makes them focus on each game as important as its own. You never overlook any of those teams.

I would like to see Minford pick up either ,Rock Hill, South Point, or Cheseapeak. We are going to loose on points this week because 2 teams we play, play each other!

I just went back through this thread and read some of the posts and I wonder where some of these folks are now. Where's Marshallman who did nothing but run down the Burg saying they were young, inexperienced, had a new coaching staff, and basically didn't stand a chance at beating Minford or winning the SOC.

WRONG SKIPPY!!!!! GUESS AGAIN!!!!

Once again it will come down to the Burg/West game in week #10 to see who wins the conference unless by some miracle Waverly would pull off the huge upset. The Burg is 8-0, ranked #6 in th AP, and #1 in the Computer in region 19. Not to bad for a team that "doesn't have a prayer" (or a Pryer) lol

Funny how that happens. Same thing happened on JJ to. Start running their mouth around June and by Oct you never here from them again.

One things for sure, Minford fans are full of crap. Been tooting their horns and downing everyone else for months. And what happens, history doesn't lie: "its just Minford".

In 2 weeks it will come down as it should West/Wheelersburg.

The big question is, will the fans allow the coaches and players do their thing without interfering.

I hate to look past a team, especially a team like Valley whom has been playing well. But West should win handily, and they probably have enough margin for error that they could play bad and still win.

So then we have Burg. Knowing the history of the series, Burg will put up a heck of a fight and it will be a great game. I just don't think these kids will be denied.

In the past, prior to 2002, West's goal was to win the SOC II. That is still a goal, but I'm not sure it's the goal. We've been talking playoffs for a while now and since last year West has been thinking Regional Champs and beyond, of which this team is capable. One game at a time though.

Didnt Valley BEAT West last year? I know West is a 3 TD favorite, but wow what a difference a year makes!!

Burg_Grad_77, he's probably at home eat crow like alot of Minford Fans. I, for one, being from Minford wish both Wheelersburg and West the best of luck. Minford just needs to focus on sustaining winning seasons year in year out. These past two seasons under Coach Daniels have been pretty successful. He always stresses to the kids, not for sure if some of the Minford Fans on here understand this but, to run with the big dogs you must beat the big dogs and asks the kids are you pretenders or contenders. He knows and everybody on the staff knows that we don't get respect until we play like contenders. IDK Maybe not this year or even next year, but maybe after having consistent winning seasons year in year out, something minford has never done in 40+ years I don't recall anyway, we may be considered to be a contender and gain respect from the 3 w's. We've had our spurts of good teams scattered through the years but not consistency. "We will find a way to get where we need to go." I just quoted myself.
