Tradition? Not to sure that most people know but Logan helmets has went through numerous changes through the years. The spear started in 1987-88, the year Mr Perry took over as head coach but the spear has been around from then to the present. Been around a long time but the helmet has went through multiple changes before 87.

That's all right poo bear but some of us older folks have seen most of the changes. It's a 2 sided coin. No big deal. Some like the spear and some would like to see a change. If they do ever change it again, I hope it's cool looking. It's just a thought anyways. Every game I've went too, I've heard people talking, saying they need a change but heard some say they don't want a change.

Before Perry Logan's helmets looked like Penn st. White helmets one purple strip down the middle and purple face mask. I have seen older helmets with numbers on the side. Perry's first year or two, I believe there was no spear. It was just a purple helmet with a white face mask. I think in 88-89 the spear showed up and I think in tiny white letters it said "Chiefs". Dale carried on that transition. The spear has changed over the years and gotten bigger.

I liked the year they had "Chiefs" spelled out in cursive on the helmet side and grey pants 1984 I think,I loved them unis, but it didn't last long because Perry wanted his own indentity, the spear eventually evolved and it stuck ever since.I thought it started in 87, but could be wrong.

But: This helmet is missing all those red/white paint "collision marks" Trenchfoot lol need to photoshop some of those in there as well.

85-86 season i don't think had anything, just a purple helmet and white face mask. 86-87 is the one i'm not sure about. 87-88 season i think is when the spear showed up. logan locos may be able to dig something up.

In 82 coach Coate had nothing on the helmet, white with purple face mask. Had the white egg head look. But in 83-84 I think there was a little something on them his last year as coach for Logan. I always thought it looked like a big golf ball.In the 83 season I believe there was a purple stripe down the middle.
