I guess I never thought of this until yesterday when I talked to one of the Ironton Coaches but who is going to be the head Coach next year. After the last game Bob told the staff he would have to think about next year because of the problems during the game. He is not sure he can deal with the kids these days. I have already heard Mike, Lou and Paul will not return next year to Coach Ironton. Has anyone heard anything different?

Coach Lutz has never said he couldn't deal with kids these days. Unless you heard that first hand, I know that is not true. I love how people start rumor -- it is what small towns are all about. Happy New Year!

I heard it from one of his Coaches. You seem to know Bob well I would ask him this question face to face. If that would help put your mind to ease but be prepared for the answer it may be one you don't like. Keep in mind that does not make him a bad coach or a man just times are changing.

I guess I would still like to know if he is going to Coach again next year and has Mike, Lou and Paul called it quits?

Lou and Paul have been doing it since I was in school. Mike retired and then came back and has coached several years. I haven't heard any of htem are calling it quits maybe just wishful thinking on your part. I do know Bob, seems like you have a problem with him.I have talked to him many times. He has said it is hard to deal with parents. Not kids.

If it makes Ironton feel better they can join the TVC Hocking and beat teams like Southern, Eastern and Miller. Of course they couldn't beat our Tomcats. So they would go looking for another conference to join. Maybe you could join one from WV or KY.

First of all who are the Tomcats??????

After doing some research you must be talking about the Trimble Tomcats D6 R23 who lost in the 2nd round of the D6 playoffs and finished the season 9-3. Your right Ironton better avoid the TVC after looking at your schedule, especially if we want to make the D4 Playoffs

A Nelsonville-York....(8-2)....[5:19]....L...13-41
H Alexander..........(4-6)....[4:15]....W...21-7
H Belpre...............(3-7)....[5:19]...W...26-10
A Crooksville..........(6-4)....[5:19]....L...6-19
H Fort Loramie.......(5-5)....[6:24]....W..41-30

H Waterford..........(5-5)....[6:23].....W..38-0
H Federal Hocking....(7-3)....[5:19].....W..28-6
A Southern............(4-6)....[6:23].....W..71-28
A Miller.................(1-9)....[6:23]....W..45-14

Only problem I have is the entire Coaching staff yearly don't know if they are coming or going because of Bob. The Coaching staff has never been able to think for themselves and if they do they are on the outside looking in. Remember I talked to a Coach that said Paul, Lou and Mike were not coming back next year. This was after the last game maybe they have changed their minds just adding value to the statement above.

Will I stay or will I go lets wait and ask who?

Amen OSU 77. It makes a person a little sick inside to think there are coaches out there who think so much of themselves. Hey, if Bob leaves, it could be another soap opera! You guys could be late July picking a coach again! Candidates Vass, B Burcham, M Lutz could find themselves in a family feud the likes of no other!! Where's the popcorn? Or maybe Triplett could return with body armour this time!

Triplett signed a 2 year contract -- he chose to leave after 1 year. Talk to him about that. He could have stayed.
Your statements don't deserve a response, but Happy New Year to you!

I guess then it was good he left because all the Coaches that would not coach for one year could returnto their old positions.

Mouth! Chill! I was makin' a joke! That is exactly what I think too...if Triplett went back to Ironton he would HAVE to have armour, the way he got received by the coaches there...the rumor was that one had stomach aches, one couldn't see, one didn't have time, etc etc. Guess all those things got cured when Bob came back so it all worked out! Anyway, you have a nice New Year too! :122249

I think the way it went down was that Triplett stated all along anytime Lutz wanted to return he would step away out of respect for him. And that is what happened. Has nothing to do with the topic of Ironton leaving the SEOAL though.

I thought I was the only one that noticed the Coaches all took a year off for what ever reason(s). :122246

bruiser wrote:everyone knew after a few yrs. in the league and no league football championships the tigers would hit the road. ironton is all about fb and they are not used to losing.

big congrats though to the golf team for bringing home an seoal trophy.

I have heard others mentioned this in general conversations.

If this is true that we are leaving the SEAOL because of no league championships in football that is hard for a lot of us to take.

I tell you what bothers me even more that there was no plan in how Ironton would go about leaving the SEOAL and moving forward with new schedules for all sports!!!
