OVC had several west Virginia teams in it years ago and the left it. So hard to see them join but maybe they will.
The 3 schools that were consolidated to make Spring Valley were in the OVC until right before closing.

Doesnt look like this is going to happen. Word is they will be invited to join the OVC this week.

Parkersburg is usually pretty stout in all their sports. South is really good in secondary sports. Their football is average and their basketball is above average.

Someone asked about the size and I do not have exact numbers, but I know Parkersburg has a total enrollment ~1800 in 9th -12th. Parkersburg South has ~1500 total enrollment 9th - 12th.
I highly doubt PHS would leave the MSAC for the SEOAL. Even if Marietta came back.

South on the other hand already plays in an OHSAA league (OVAC) and might like not having to drive all way to Morgantown, Moundsville, Wheeling, and Follansbee.
Maybe a PHS, Warren, Meigs and Marietta division and a Gallia Jackson, Logan and Ironton division to limit some travel by alternating playing only a couple games in the other division each year.

Ironton is no longer a possibility. I think Marietta and Athens will be on the top of the SEOAL list. I think the league needs to start the process quickly though. The OVC has taken in 2 new members and look like they may add another soon. Portsmouth leaves after next year, so if the SEOAL wants someone to take the Trojans spot in 15, they better get things rolling.

Meigs will not join the SEOAL ... I brought up the topic in the Meigs press box Friday and they all laughed at the notion.

As long as Jackson, Logan and GAHS stay together it will be true SEOAL football regardless of who leaves or joins.

Ironton has tucked and ran multiple times. Therefore, I don't see them being welcomed back in.

Warren should stay and Marietta needs back in. There would be some lengthy trips from Jackson to Washington county but it can't all be perfect.

I doubt they will ever do it but Athens needs back in where they belong.

I've never heard anyone outside of message boards mention Parkersburg or Parkersburg South. Teams from different stats in one league are always kind of a hurdle b/c state associations pass different rules. With that said, I wouldn't be against either school, just don't really think it will happen.

Logan has never played PHS or PSHS in football, or any sport for that matter - well, maybe occasionally in a track meet like the Marietta relays?

SEOAL schools have been active in finding new members. Portsmouth to the OVC was not "out of the blue", most new it was coming.

With Portsmouth gone in 2015 not certain how long a 4 school league can effectively last assuming Jackson, Logan, Gallipolis and Warren stay committed...I imagine it would not be long till one of those 4 jumped ship and then there would be nothing. A 4 person league means scheduling a lot of non league games in Football not to mention the other sports.

Sounds like it may not last long unless we can get some leadership amongst the remaining AD's.

... Portsmouth and Ironton BOTH now joining the OVC ... word is Gallia is staying put (for now) ... with Gallia staying put one of the other threads brought up the possibility of Jackson jumping to the OVC to make that league an 8 team league ... what a merry-go-round !!!

I look for Marietta to get back into the SEOAL ... Athens? - what say you 93dog? what's the feeling down in the land of the 'dawgs - any possibility there?

Jackson has no reason to go to the OVC, and I have NEVER heard anyone related to Jackson athletics mention that.

If that ever happened, I would be absolutely shocked, but I guess you should never say never.

I'm confident that Jackson, Logan, Gallia Academy, and Warren will be joined by at least one team in the near future, and the SEOAL will survive.

Ironman02 - I haven't personally heard anything about Jackson jumping either, I just read that on another thread - not sure if the authors of that one know or knew of what they posted ... interesting times they are for sure LOL

I have heard that two OVC schools had a plan to get Jackson, Gallipolis, Ironton and Portsmouth into the league but on the end of the two OVC schools and not the 4 schools on the wish list.

I knew the OVC was wanting Gallia.
But they chose to stay in the SEOAL for now.
I mentioned about Jackson moving to OVC just on past post of Jackson looking to get in the SOC.
I have not heard anyone saying Jackson was moving but it would not surprise me if the looked into it.
Travel wouldn't be super bad Proctorville would be the longest trip and then Chesapeake
Portsmouth would still be a good trip and ironton and Coal Grove and South Point decent trips for them.
Nothing firm I know about them moving and sorry if I got a rumor started just thinking aloud about it all.

Does anyone know if Point Pleasant actually has any interest in returning to the league? I for one would have no problem with PP coming back into the SEOAL. Who cares about them being from "across the river" ? They are a great fit geographically, they are similar in size to all league schools, and they would be competitive. Whats not to like?

1. Jackson
2. Logan
3. Gallia Academy
4. Warren
5. Marietta
6. Point Pleasant
7. Athens

This would be the "old" SEOAL minus River Valley. Makes sense to me :)

I def. don't see Meigs leaving the OHIO...
and with the Possibility of Athens dropping to DIV in 2 years, I don't see them leaving...

Possible 2015 TVC-OHIO
1. VC - DIII
2. Athens / Meigs - DIV
3. Alexander / Wellston/ River Valley - DV
4. NY -DVI

I don't see this League Changing unless RV leaves or Moves to the HOCKING...

What I do see as a Possibility is this:

Inside the TVC something Similar to the NEW Big Ten...
One Division
1. Athens - IV
2. Meigs - IV
3. Alexander - V
4. Warren - IV
5. NY - VI

One Division
1. Gallia - IV
2. Wellston - IV
3. VC - III
4. River Valley - V
5. Jackson - III

Pretty Balanced in Size and Trips...just a thought...

?mark that is probably the best scenario I see absent any teams magically beating on the SEOAL door for entry...which realistically isn't going to happen.

I actually really like it, be some great games and some great gates for each of the schools.

Current TVC teams are desperate to try and grab Warren, Jackson, and Gallipolis so that they can move Athens to another division.

Seems to be consensus from most TVC schools outside of Athens that adding the Bulldogs has been a mistake and they all have buyers remorse. Numerous posters have made this clear.

As I have said before, as long as Gallipolis, Jackson, and Logan are committed to the SEOAL it will carry on. Although all three schools have talked with other leagues, none of them have been serious about leaving. I think Gallipolis turning down the OVC is evidence of this.

Jackson and Warren will be in the TVC if they can get the votes. Early straw polls show that they will get enough. Logan will then need to convince the MSL to let them in. This may make Gallia wish they had not turned down the OVC, as they will then need to convince the TVC to take them. I find it interesting that Marietta now has interest in returning to the SEOAL though. That may be something that could prevent the above if it happens, but I doubt that it will.

LOL. Yeah, "message board guys" like us have influence on what is actually taking place among those in charge. Chat rooms and message boards change the world! Hahahahahaha. No one with any real life is actually reading any of this stuff that a small handful of people spout on here. Fantasy world. Athens isn't going anywhere.

Great response TD! IT is comical, and I think you could further clarify that numerous posters is probably a few posters with numerous screen names.
