Was told by a friend of mine who used to be a TVC boardmember that VC did not want Warren back in because they said Warren would dominate everything all the time and also they still had a chip on their shoulder from when Warren left the league in 1986, I think it is time to move on don't you.
Haha I'm sure that's what they said :/
VC didn't like how Warren left pounding their chests in the mid 80s. VC also doesn't like the 1 and a half hour drive to Barlow. Our longest drive is 45 minutes to Meigs. The rest are 30 minutes or less. The Vikings don't play Warren now because of that reason. Same reason we don't play Belpre since they joined the hocking.

Come on! You can't tease us like that and not at least give some hints. :)

I think I know who one will be. Not sure on the other though.

Dr. Evans just preferred that South Gallia and River Valley not play. She did however approve of the Jamboree game. On occasion the 2 schools would bump into one another in track and golf and it seems that was considered to be ok. My guess is with Dr. Evans passing this year you will see the 2 schools begin to gradually work each other in to volleyball, basketball and spring sports schedules. The board members have never been against it but just did not want to go against Dr. Evans wishes because it was something that she felt very strong about. As for football I just am not sure. The bottom line is that River Valley is nearly 3 times larger than SG. I know they have struggled but at some point they are going to right that ship and I am not sure it's in their best interest to be playing D7 schools. Not to mention the jamboree games gave generated over $70,000 which is split and the schools use to purchase weights, track equipment, etc. That would go away if the 2 schools began playing in the regular season.

If this is true, the list of potential candidates would most likely be..

Marietta
Point Pleasant
Waverly
Athens
Fairland

I think it will be two of these 5.

Seoal needs to add 2. 6 or 8 is perfect size. And only way Athens joins is if the tvc kicks them out. Like 49(Athens) to 12(field) in titles lol

Not sure about the TVC, but some leagues have a clause where a team can be kicked out of the league with a ?% vote of the other members. I know of one league that is 100% and one league changed it from 2/3 to 3/4 within the last couple years. Most of the time, it is the same % to add a team as to remove a team.

I believe it was Lima Central Catholic (not 100% sure) that left their league (the other schools were public schools) because some of the other schools were wanting a vote on remove due to their dominance over the other schools in the league.

Waverly isn't going to join the SEOAL. They have dropped to D5 and don't have the numbers to compete with bigger schools. They finished 5th in the SOCII this year playing D5 schools. If they were to leave the SOCII and I dont think they would it would be to go to the SVC.

Noles that is a good point...about schools dropping to new divisions and possibly effecting whether they join a league.

Logan remained at Division 2.
Jackson remained at Division 3.
Gallia Academy and Warren both fell to Division 4.

With Waverly being Division 5, I could see why they would possibly not want to join being a smaller school.

In a few years, I could see Logan remaining at Division 2 while Jackson, Gallia Academy and Warren all could be Division 4.

When talking about school size everyone seems to get so hung up on enrollment only. Does the number of boys in a school matter? Sure. Is it the only indicator of what size talent pool a school has? Hell No! Common sense should tell us that there are many other things to consider such as socioeconomic factors, how spread out a district may or may not be, and so on. We should all remember this before rushing to label a school as big fish/small pond. On the opposite end labeling a school as being small and lucky to compete when they have obvious advantages over other schools with similar enrollments.
