Army, your idea of a SEOAC to me is the best. To say that it will never happen is nieve. One thing for sure and history has proved it if it can happen it hust may happen. Wheelersburg is in a good division now but the idea of them, Ptown, P. West, Chilli. Gallipolis, Jackson, Ironton, and Waverly would be a great mix. I personaly would love this league and the travel would not be unbareable. IMO

That is a very interesting scenario....That would be some tough football year....Would help the smaller schools control fuel cost as well..... Anything is possible
Re: Burg in the SEOAL??????
I stand corrected on my previous post.Instead of ten out of conference it would only be nine do to the fact that the tenth game would be your DOC game. But still, nine out of conference is too many, five to six is about right.

Ironton applied to join the SOCII in the 98-99 school year. It was Coach Hall's last year at Wheelersburg. I remember him talking about it it class. From what I can remember him saying is that we(BURG) was the only school that voted for them, but that has been 10 years ago...

oldschoolblue,
Just think what a Conference like that could do for SE-Ohio.
SEOAC Southeastern Ohio Atheletic Conference

1. Chillicothe Cavaliers DIII 335 Boys
2. Jackson Ironmen DII 378 Boys
3. Waverly Tigers DIV 253 Boys
4. Portsmouth West Siders DV 186 Boys
5. Portsmouth Trojans DIV 195 Boys
6. Wheelersburg Pirates DV 185 Boys
7. Ironton Fighting Tigers DIV 216 Boys
8. Gallipolis (Gallia Academy) Blue Devils DIV 247 Boys
The SEOAC would be a serious Football and Basketball Conference

Baseball and Track too.

I know Logan's feelings would get hurt, having been a member of the SEOAL since 1925 and all that sentimental stuff, but some things do change. In my view, within a few years, Logan might want to get into a league that is more their size near Columbus. This year, Logan has 515 Boys. I know they will be able to compete in a bigger league.
Who knows? Only time will tell.
I think it would be a great conference and less travel.
COUNTIES THAT WOULD BE REPRESENTED
Ross 1-Team
Jackson 1-Team
Pike 1-Team
Scioto 3-Teams
Lawrence 1-Team
Gallia 1-Team
Re: Burg in the SEOAL??????
The OCC doesn't want Logan. If they did, Logan probably would have made the switch already. I guess there may be other opportunities at some point, but I doubt it. In my opinion, Logan should be welcomed in the SEOAL as long as they want to be there. It seems like people want to get rid of Logan because they're so successful in football right now. I don't share that sentiment. Logan is good for the SEOAL.
Wheelersburg, Waverly, and Portsmouth West are happy right where they are. There's no reason for them to leave a good thing.

Re: Burg in the SEOAL??????
Only time may tell on some of these schools.
Chillicothe is positioned pretty much in the center. To Logan or Portsmouth. Ironton, Warren and Marietta is a long drive. Gallia Academy is not that far.
But if a SEOAC was formed, Portsmouth West and Wheelersburg are much closer to Chillicothe than Marietta and Warren are.

Re: Burg in the SEOAL??????
with fuel cost topping $4.00 a gallon not many schools are wanting to travel 200 miles round trip to play. these cost will only get worse. the soc is competitive and local rivalries are the best.
