Tigers24,
Thanks for posting the stats. I knew Roback put up a lot of yardage, but I had no idea it was that much. Just glad the Ironmen were able to make some big plays, both offensively and defensively, to get the win against such an athletic Waverly football team. It's good to finally know that Jackson most likely will never have to deal with Roback again. I'll enjoy watching him much more in a Toledo uniform, haha.

Re: Waverly (1-0) at Jackson (1-0)
pigskinguru,
You took my playoff comment too seriously. I think both these teams will have to pull an upset to get enough points to get into the playoffs especially in Region 12, but what Waverly fan or Jackson fan wouldn't want to see these two teams go at it again?

Re: Waverly (1-0) at Jackson (1-0)
Waverly has to start excecuting the offense better. The Tigers had another 1st and goal inside the 5 and failed to score a TD.
Crucial turnovers, dropped passes and stupid penalties killed any chance of Waverly beating the Ironmen, and the Tigers end up losing by only one score.
KILLER TURNOVERS WERE THE STORY OF THIS ONE!
I have to give allot of credit to the Tiger DEFENSE who stepped it up in the 2nd half to shut out the Ironmen. The only Jackson score in the 2nd half came on a fumble returned for a TD.
pigskinguru,
I don't think anyone was disappointed with the Tigers heart. They continued to fight back and never quit. They could have folded.
The Tigers will regroup, learn from this one and get ready for the Wellston Golden Rockets who gave Minford a great game.

G&B from huddle,
Agreed. They fought to the end. Wasn't questioning their heart as much as giving Jackson credit for really going out and making plays to win the game. I guess I just thought Waverly would have been sharper. Had a lot of trouble catching the football. I just expected more from them. Good luck the rest of the season.
Re: Waverly (1-0) at Jackson (1-0)
The Tigers did show some heart fighting until the final bell; however, we are not going to beat many football teams on our schedule turning the ball over 4 times (compared to the Ironmen's one)...especially on the road. This team continues to show that game immaturity (turnovers, huge penalties at the worst times) that cost them dearly last season. That being said, you have to give credit to the Ironmen for creating those situations. They could have folded as well...down 10 quick points out of the gate, but they fought and stayed within themselves. I was very impressed with the poise shown on the Ironmen sidelines...those kids never doubted that they were in that ballgame.
