I agree with blizzardman here. But more people then coach penrod gets the credit. The line coach that came from Alexander has done a amazing job. Also you can tell improved fundamentals are amazing compared to where this team has been. I love coach Riffe as a person and as a father. But he was not a head coach. But that is neither here nor there.

I don't know how many wins this team will end with.. But they are tremendously improved the strange thing is. This team may end up 4-1 on road. And 0-5 home. They may go 1-9. I would be shocked. But they are so much more improved then just kids growing up.

Either way I hope we play 4 hard quarters against Jackson. And see what happens

Something feels odd about this game, could it be an upset? A full moon ( Waning Gibbous Phase) at Memorial Field? The unusual coolness in the air this early in the season? The fall of the Roman empire was one of the biggest upsets in mankind, Horace said, "The lofty pine is oftenest shaken by the winds; High towers fall with a heavier crash; And the lightning strikes the highest mountain" Trap game for Jackson? I don't but something feels odd about this one.

jottings is still active on Facebook. I talked with him a few months ago, but think when the forum switched over he never made the full transition and finally gave up.

He is one of the last of the truly fantastic era of SE Ohio prep sports writers. We still have a lot of talent at our local papers, but they no longer get the support they need the way folks like Junior (jottings), Jim Myers, Craig Dunn, Randy Heath, Bill WIllis, Tom Metters, and many others did.

I have all of Gallipolis' history from 1925 till the present as far as results from my SEOAL project. I just didn't have time to post the history here in place of jottings.

I think the oddness here is the unknown. And what is the unknown is /who is Gallia Academy? Look they might get jacked 70-0 tonight i do not know.
How improved are they? They have played much stronger and faster then there size and athleticism this year. Is it smoke and mirrors is it real? I just know that after 4 years of just lousy football it is better. Tonight they will jump in the water and maybe we will figure it out. But i think that is the weirdness part.

Before the game starts. New sound system at memorial field nice. Allowing parking behind visitors side stands. Great $5.00 a little high

Jackson bigger stronger faster. No contest. Good luck the rest of way iron men. Guess next year will be last year of this. Jackson coach ranting before game in front of locker room that they would not be back.

Now a guestion had Jackson had a problem fumbling coming into game? Just wandering Gallia had been pretty good fundamental tackling. But tonight a lot of kids trying to tackle ball. Not that it made a difference.

Proud of Blue Devils in first half competed well. In second half. Just got ran over..

Hopefully a good season coming for jackson

Jackson hasn't had a fumbling issue the first two weeks.

Who played well for Jackson..I couldn't listen to broadcast due to technical issues of some sort

QB made a couple of good throws first drive or 2 to open things up. Then number 23 kind of took over. Even ran a couple of series with him in the wildcat.

Blue devils put up a good fight , especially in the first half.... then kind of let things get away from them in the second. . Seems like the second half we had terrible field position and Jackson was able to capitalize. . The blue qb was always under constant pressure and couldn't get the running game going.. agree with you 83 on our tackling problems.. one score happened right in front of me, we had 5 defenders surrounding the ball carrier and somehow he was able to score.... league play starts next week and the league looks wide open with no clear cut favorite. .. if Blue continues to improve we may be able to challenge for a league title....

Solid win for the Ironmen. Defense is obviously playing very well, only giving up 7 points in three games. Gotta keep getting better next week against Western Brown. They got their first win of the season tonight.

Slow first half , working on some new things on offense . Again a couple killer holding penalties that took 1 maybe 2 tds off the board. Second half back to Ironmen football and put the Jake away. Solid effort by the defense with another shutout . Gallia has a nice offense and some good weapons . Gallia is for sure getting better and well coached . They kids we're in the right spots they just didn't have the horses. Good luck Gallia , we're pulling for you to win the OVC

Not a shock.
Jackson is at the point where schools like this should not be able to compete with them.

Not meant as disrespect towards G.A.
It's a big compliment to Jackson.

Depth made a big difference in this one. Jackson has it. Blue Devils not nearly as much. Jackson is simply a great team.
