Week 1: Athens @ Gallia Academy

Just returned from Memorial Field where the Athens freshman defeated GAHS 22-6... I was impressed with the Athens team...Good speed & size... Great talent at the skill positions... If Athens can keep this group together they will be a force in the varsity years.... GAHS only had 12 players dressed..... Athens was late and GAHS was on the field for about an hour before the game started and I believe it took its toll on them.... Not using this as an excuse because Athens definitely had the better team....

Great to hear, the JV team won their game with N-Y earlier this week 26-6. The future of the Athens program looks to be headed in the right direction.

I expect a hard hitting game with the Blue Devils wearing the Bulldogs down in the second half and for the ones who think we don t have speed ------ suprise -- N. CLAGG he may not be as fast as Wilson but he can move and plays very tough C.Russell quick and a hard hitter Shalen Logan never seen him play till this year always heard he was fast very explosive and quick , also Taylor, Young , Johnson are pretty quick too. should be a great game
