Looking forward to Friday. Jackson/Logan is probably my favorite game on the schedule - year in and year out. We're both proud to be "football" schools. And more often than not one of use wins the SEOAL.

Friday night will be the 90th meeting between Jackson and Logan, and last year Jackson became the most frequent opponent in Logan's history (we have played Athens 88 times and Gallipolis 80 times. Logan has played Nelsonville 55 times prior to consolidation and have played Nelsonville-York 29 times for a total of 84 meetings between the two communities.
Just a few people left to get on board it's not little johnny he happy to be part of something great. logan Freshmanwas a nice looking group
gave our boys all they wanted only team our freshman have ever lost to. jr high teams play tonight our 7th has lost one game and 8th has
not lost. could lead to some real good varsity games in the future.
And the Jackson football machine just keeps rolling on! Both Logan teams get dominated tonite

Personally I'd like to see the Chiefs win. But still don't have a clue as to how Logan really is as a team. They are now playing the weakest part of their schedule. N-Y was a disaster and they should have won both Northland and Newark. Portsmouth is what they are. Not very good. Yet to see where Logan fits into SEO football, which, unfortunately is as weak as ever. That still isn't saying much for Logan. Jackson may have a better record , but creative scheduling has been the secret to winning seasons down there for years and years. They aren't that good either. Winner of the game has bragging rights and not much else.

Go Chiefs !

Thanks. I believe that makes the 8th grade 6-0 and the 7th grade 5-1. Only loss for the 7th grade was 30-28 to a VERY talented Chillicothe team.

This is a great post!! Ive been saying the same thing for 4 days!! Where did all the nay-sayers go?? "Logan needs to fire the coach" "They cant Win" blah blah blah. They play the most complete game of the season and not one "normal" hater says one positive thing.....Like I have said 100 times, most on here were what I thought were "fair weather" fans but hell we win game and not one person is saying anything about the win. Ill be in Jackson Friday night as this will be my first trip to the stadium. Cant wait. Logan-Jackson is always a great game.
Grad, Just remember Logan did play a better game the other night but it is what it is , Portsmouth is very weak and they have just as many if not more problems with there program than the Chiefs! They will show up tonight and give a good Jackson team a competive game the 1st half, but then I am still concern that the wheels will fall off again and the same old problems will appear again! That being said my prediction is;

Logan 14
Jackson 35

might be a wet one. chiefs stick with the running game theres a good chance they leave there with a close win. the o line blocked well last week opening up some big running lanes. defense has to play tough again. GET-R-DONE CHIEFS!!!

If Logan is competitive in the first half but falters in the second half, maybe, just maybe the coaches have them prepared to play, and then a lack of talent catches up as the game progresses. Jackson ain't that good.

This one should tell us quite a bit, Logan can prove that they turned the corner a bit if they can win or really just keep this one close while Jackson can quiet many doubters with a big win while taking another step toward another potential SEOAL title.

Jackson 31 - Logan 20 - Final.

Jackson played well offensively, but they put the ball on the ground WAY too much...6 fumbles, lost 2 of them. The offensive line really got the job done though. The Ironmen rushed for over 350 yards with Kearns, Landrum, Rafferty, and Griffiths running behind a constantly-improving offensive line.

Defensively, I didn't think Jackson played well. They made some big plays to hold Logan to only 6 points early in the 4th quarter, but after they opened up the 31-6 lead, they completely lost focus. Big plays through the air and on the ground in the 4thQ, and they nearly let Logan back into the game. Gotta play for 48 minutes. Even early in the game, Logan moved the ball well behind what I think is a pretty good offensive line. They just made costly mistakes or Jackson came up with a big play. The Ironmen have to get better defensively if they want to compete in the final weeks of the season.

That said, 2-0 in the league and tied for 1st place with GAHS. Three more to go!

Jackson does just enough to win another ugly game against pretty bad logan team. Jackson will not repeat as league champs playing this way no way the coachs can think otherwise.
the Ironmen have senior players take plays off on both sides of the ball and the tackling was horrible all arms and grabbing. COACHS WATCH THE FILM find someone who will hit and wrap
up. It's way to late to do tackling drills find other players or this will end bad if you don't do something before chilli and gallia.

At least the chiefs played hard tonight! But still the lack of proper tackling and failure to come up with the big play or hit was the downfall of the Chiefs tonight As the old saying goes, A loss is an loss . Jackson will get beat by Gallia. This was not an outstanding Jackson team!
