Hopefully the Ironmen practices have been a little more intense this week, although with the weather we have had at beginning of week I am sure they have probably been a little abbreviated. Last week before the Warren game I think there was a little let down, some of it understandable coming off the Burg, Ready, West Jefferson games.

Time for the coaches, captains and seniors to get everyone re-focused on an extremely good Logan team that is only 4-5 points away from being 5-1.

This game scares me, our preparation and energy this week needs to be at a high level. Logan definitely has us in their sights from talking to some of my Logan friends.

Some people are trying to hype the game and some being nice but Jackson wins this going away.

Hmmm is right, been watching these two schools and their respective classes since middle school, they are even in talent and the record indicates that, edge to Logan perhaps in opponents played this year, edge to Jackson perhaps for the home field.

Very tough game slated for Friday between the purple and red.

From an outside observer. Jackson showed that when someone for the most part slows down their run, they can pass. So a balanced offense. logan always physical, will come at you on defense and is a solid defensive team. Throw out season records, this is the game of the week in and around Southeast Ohio. Should be a fans game, great action on both sides. A true test of heart on both sides of the ball. Look forward to the highlights. Good luck to both schools from down in Washington County.

This game will illustrate why high school football is so great for this area of the state.

Jackson 96.7 broadcast every Ironmen game but they do not stream it on the web.

In regards to Logan's radio station from what I understand:
*No they dont have an internet stream by no fault of the broadcasters, but more bc the owners in Va wont step into the 21st century
*Logan radio does all the Logan games both road and home and will be in Jackson
*The station has been offered by local sponsors to pay for an internet stream but see above ^^

This game will be a great game I think. Logan must do a better job vs the Run and Jackson will have to do a better job vs the Pass. Logan will look to establish a running game but they have alot of confidence in their passing attack. Big WRs on the outside for Logan will cause problems. Bryce McBride is avg 9.1 ypc on the ground for Logan but the Red and White are very very good vs the run. Jackson has 5 RBs with at least 20 carries. The Logan front 7 will be in for a long night. Jackson has always been about "we are going to run the ball so try and stop us" and I think that will be obviously be more of the same on Friday. Theyre big and they do alot of things very well. Weather could be a factor but the bottom line for me is Logan has to force Jackson to throw the ball and make some plays on defense. If Jackson just pounds the ball for long runs it could be a long night. (see Lancaster) But I like our offense. We have some playmakers and I like our matchups at the skilled spots. Here's a huge factor: The Logan kicking game. its been trial by fire and it could play into the game friday.

Logan 20
Jackson 14

Was told that Jackson sat Raymon Potter and Derek Rafferty last week due to injury. Guess they were hoping to get them back for Logan but now it doesnt look like that will happen. Boy that will change the game big time. Both players are crucial on both sides of the ball. Jackson's bench will really be tested tomorrow night.

Rafferty missed Logan game last year after the ACL injury the week before at Warren. This and Potter nursing injuries and not playing is a big deal, one of the reasons we looked out of synch against Warren last week. Not good news at all.

I'll believe Rafferty and Potter are out when I see them in street clothes on Friday night.

And Jackson is loaded at RB and LB.

ON that note, it was great to see Gabe Griffiths got back into the backfield last week. Know he has been battling injuries. HS football is short. Hate to see guys miss games due to injury.

I am a little worried if the injury situation is indeed true.

But I am more worried that Paladin said above Jackson is favored...his remarks are typically the kiss of death. Perhaps he will retract those words and come back with something more Paladin-ish like Jackson has played D5&D6 weenie programs and the mighty Chiefs have played bigger and tougher teams and that they will crush the Ironmen.

That will then make me feel like we are on a safe footing.
