Fun fact: the tri valleys of the Tri Valley Conference are: Ohio, Hocking and Muskingum. For whatever reason, the conference has never expanded into the Muskingum Valley over the years.

When is the media going to pick up on this story? If Fort Frye, Warren and Marietta have applied to join the TVC, reporters should be on that. It’s not like much else is going on right now with cancellations galore.

Why does the other and last Washington County school - Frontier, never gets mentioned in these TVC expansion talks?

Frontier has a new league Mid Ohio Valley League with Shadyside , Magnolia , Monroe Central , Bridgeport and River. They seem super happy in that league.Orange and Brown wrote: Tue Aug 11, 2020 9:29 pmThe have never appliedBystander#1 wrote: Tue Aug 11, 2020 9:01 pm Why does the other and last Washington County school - Frontier, never gets mentioned in these TVC expansion talks?

They also just do not fit geographically into the TVC, at all.EasternDspy wrote: Tue Aug 11, 2020 10:26 pmFrontier has a new league Mid Ohio Valley League with Shadyside , Magnolia , Monroe Central , Bridgeport and River. Frontier is closer to Wheeling then any TVC school other than Waterford.Bystander#1 wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2020 11:54 amThen none of Washington County does.formerfcfan wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2020 10:15 amThey also just do not fit geographically into the TVC, at all.EasternDspy wrote: Tue Aug 11, 2020 10:26 pm

You’re right still don’t make much sense for anyone.Bystander#1 wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2020 2:02 pmBelpre is closerEasternDspy wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2020 12:55 pmFrontier is closer to Wheeling then any TVC school other than Waterford.
Re: Fort Frye attempts to join TVC Ohio
The point being, Belpre and Waterford have some significant drives in the TVC Hocking and Frontier is on the far side of the county. Frontier to South Gallia would be like 2 hours one way. There are plenty of similar sized schools within 1/2 hour of Frontier on that side. Belpre and Waterford are in the middle either way, really.Bystander#1 wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2020 2:02 pmBelpre is closerEasternDspy wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2020 12:55 pmFrontier is closer to Wheeling then any TVC school other than Waterford.

That's why it doesn't make any sense for any Washington County school to belong to the TVC

What would make sense to you?Bystander#1 wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2020 3:08 pm That's why it doesn't make any sense for any Washington County school to belong to the TVC
Trimble to Eastern or Southern is a longer trip than any combination of Eastern/Belpre/Waterford/Federal Hocking (and a few minutes difference from Waterford/Southern). South Gallia is an outlier for everyone.

Counties are arbitrary geographic boundaries whose sole purposes have absolutely nothing to do with high school sports.Bystander#1 wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2020 11:54 amThen none of Washington County does.formerfcfan wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2020 10:15 amThey also just do not fit geographically into the TVC, at all.EasternDspy wrote: Tue Aug 11, 2020 10:26 pm

Re: Fort Frye attempts to join TVC Ohio
So, they basically tried that. It was called the PVC. Seems no one was happy with it. Those trips to Beallsville and Woodsfield are much worse than anything a Washington County school does in the TVC.Bystander#1 wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2020 4:14 pmBelpreenigmaax wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2020 3:49 pmWhat would make sense to you?Bystander#1 wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2020 3:08 pm That's why it doesn't make any sense for any Washington County school to belong to the TVC

Fort Frye would smash this group and it’s part of the reason why the PVC broke up.Bystander#1 wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2020 4:14 pmBelpreenigmaax wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2020 3:49 pmWhat would make sense to you?Bystander#1 wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2020 3:08 pm That's why it doesn't make any sense for any Washington County school to belong to the TVC
