"Both teams are a running team and the new turf in Wellston should make the rain non existent. " Does anyone know for sure if the field is sod or turf???
Prater is an awesome athlete and Wellston played hard. If Prater doesn't get dinged up, I'm not sure the Blue Devils win.
That being said, GA should have won this game easily if not for the officiating. I'll be the first to say that I normally scoff when I hear fans complain about officiating, but this was blatant. It had to be close to 200 yds. of penalties for GA. It isn't the first time I've heard of this at Wellston, but it is the first time I've seen it firsthand. I don't know why ADs from opposing schools would schedule them when this kind of thing keeps happening.
Hats off to gallia in a hard fought win,the two turn overs by wellston i felt was the differents in the game.good defensive game from both teams.the 4th down play by wellston was infront of me the receivers foot was only a few inches out, tough break.prater gave it all he had, played great defense and passed the ball good, his leg just was'nt able to hold up all night. u could tell he was really hurting on the sideline when trainer was working on him.good luck rest of way gallia.and to wellston regroup play hard lot of football left.
this was a hard played game by both teams if wellston would have throwed the ball some the first half it would have been wellston all the way prater and brown was both playing hurt but what a combo.
Prater is a heck of a football player no doubt. It just seems like he can not make it through a season without getting injured (from what I have read over the last 3 years). I could be wrong, but it seems like he has been out or missed parts of more games than he has played over his career. When he is healthy, he sure has an impact on the game.
