East @ Unioto Scrimmage

East played at Unioto today at 10:00 a.m. East outscored Unioto 3-0 or 3 touchdowns to none! East first string defense alo, recovered a fumble and had an interception in Unioto's first 10 plays! East Defense also, had two other passes dropped for interceptons. Offensively we did really well running the ball and had "get ready for this" good success throwing the ball! Hood to Garrett! To set up a touchdown! And, the play called for the touchdown was, something that resembled a "Rugby Scrum"! Garrett also, had about a 40 yard quarterback draw go for a touchdown that left one Unioto player looking for his ankles as Garrett throwed him the head and went right on by for the score.

Defensively... we attacked the Shermans and had what I think as some of the best pass coverage in several years! Several players around the ball all day! We really looked pretty decent defensively! And, the reason I say decent is; it's the first scrimmage and there is alot of improvement to be made!

The JV Team (mostly freshman) scrimmaged against Coal Grove and scored once or twice. I believe the JV Team had a good showing against the mostly sophmore and looked like a few junior, Coal Grove team. East also score on them once!

Coal Grove and Unioto also, scrimmaged! Coal Grove beat Unioto from what I seen 2-1. Unioto seemed to run the ball very effectively at times against Coal Grove! Coal Grove did have a back break a long run up the middle on Unioto too!

Next Scrimmage: East @ Racine Southern at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14th.
Tartan Army will join the Axe N Shield watching the "Leave No Doubt Tour" continue into the 2008 season!

And by the way; I would like to mention that the folks from Unioto did not have the water on for our team to shower! They also, did not feed the team as most all other teams do when hosting a game; scrimmage or otherwise! We always feed teams when we host games! I don't know if Coal Grove got food or showers either! I hope they at least took care of one of them!
