Biggest surprise and biggest disappointment this year?

Post by bucking red »

I have 2 teams that nobody was talking about this year and that is Fairland and Alexander. Both teams have a shot at making the playoffs and winning their league. IMO the biggest disappointment has to be Meigs. They are 3-5 but I still think they are a good team.

Biggest suprise--- Alexander I thought they would continue to get better but not win like they have been. Beating NY to top it all off! WOW

Biggest Disappointment--- Trimble, They had a tough non-league schedule but I really thought they would be in the hunt for the playoffs!

Biggest disappointment----Chillicothe the worst I thought they would be was 5 and 5

Biggest surprise to me Athens--didn't think they would had a chance to be 10 and 0 which going into the Nelson/York game alot of people thought that.

I'm with you on the Chillicothe thing. It's like they gave up after they played us.

I think Warren was a bit surprising.

Biggest surprise: Jackson

The majority of the population predicted three or four wins for this team

Biggest disappointment: Wellston and Waverly

Both teams have a lot of talent at the skilled positions, but have dealt with injuries and often poor line play throughout the season. Only saw Waverly twice, and Wellston has yet to put four quarters together in any game this season. And take Fairfield Christian out of that equation.

The biggest surprise by far has to be Alexander defeating Nelsonville-York for the first time in school history.

I'm surprised Warren has done so well, yet Meigs pushed them to OT. While I'm not surprised Athens has had a winning season, I am surprised they dominated so many teams this season, particularly the Meigs and Gallia Academy game results.

I'm surprised Gallia Academy has had such a tough season. It is rare for them to be down like this.

I'm surprised that Wahama was voted into the TVC. I always thought South Gallia had a good chance of being voted in, but Wahama kind of came as a last minute shock. Belpre to the TVC Hocking was also a surprise, even though their enrollment numbers dictate that the Hocking is where they should be.

This isn't a "big surprise" since it's NY, but I have been pleasantly surprised that NY is in the hunt for a playoff spot and league championship, even though the varsity team is almost entirely composed of Sophomores! NY could have two very special seasons in 2010 and 2011 with this bunch!

New Lex was a big disappointment but they lost a ton from last season's Final Four team.

Biggest Disappointment- Philo, started out at 2-2 with a promising schedule to go 6-4 & now will probably end up 2-8 or 3-7 at best.

Biggest Surprise- West M. Should finish the year 9-1.

I will second the mention of Meigs on here, they are probably the best 3-5 team in the tri-state area. I don't know what went wrong this year but they just had a big let down this year.

As for suprise it has to be Oak Hill, they have a great team but due to their conference no one was talking about them.

I thought the Trojans were on par for another so-so season after the first 3.5 weeks. We beat young West and South Point teams, were outclassed by Burg and were getting hammered by Jackson for a half. A lot of personnel adjustments were made and we have at least 6 or 7 kids starting that weren't at the beginning of the year and we have really turned it around.

Surprises: Burg's ups and downs when i thought they would win out, and the overall spread of several strong teams in the soc beating up one one another.

Dissapointment: Has to be the degrading remarks to opponents programs on the forums.
