Patrick Angle P.O.T.W.

Post by A-Town Big Dog »

I was listening to the Buckeye roundtable on ESPN radio earlier this evening and Patrick Angle of Logan High School was named high school player of the week. Congratulations to Patrick on the accomplishment, you deserve it. Good luck the rest of the way!

No.

I know the coaches are working on getting film out and making phone calls. It may be a little too late, but a couple of guys are working very hard.

That's sad that they are finally getting some film out. That should have been done last year.

i watched this this kid play when logan played ironton, he probably wasn't at the top of his game that nite, he still looked better than any gb that iv'e seen play in years. i think this guy can play at any major collage that give's him a chance. good going patrick, your one of the best.

Actually, Patrick was contacted by OU's coach late last week. He was invited to their game on saturday and was told they were interested in him and that they wanted to see highlights from this current season. He took game tapes from the 2009 season with him.

No disrespect intended tword OU but, I've seen a ton of talented local to semi-local kids go to OU and die as in terms of athletics. If he gets offers from any other D1 schools he should give great thought to those offers before signing with OU only to be misused or not used at all. I think the local kids have a more difficult time adjusting to the rigors of college athletics when they stay close to home and couple athletics and school with too many friends from home.

Well, I certainly hope that doesnt happen to Patrick IF he ends up going there. Hopefully he'll get a few more offers to choose from. We shall see....I'd say a lot is riding on how Logan does in the playoffs.

An observation that I had never considered. There could be something to it But........how about all the Columbus and other central Ohio players who go to OSU and make it?

Yes but look at all of the younger players names you see in the paper or on the news every spring getting into trouble while out with their friends who aren't in the program. I don't mean to imply that all kids can't handle the situation, it seems to me that it happens to a lot more local kids at every school then in does to kids who are from further away that use the football team to fill the supportive roles of friends and family.
