Also anyone who feels the need to "hijack' a thread can also come here and post away. I just feel that all those poor unfortunate souls out there have a place to have their voice heard without the threat of reprisal of locked topics and bans.....

Hard to believe it was 20 years ago. Before the Mac was king. St Henry was the only power in nw Ohio. This was the first time a Lima local won state. Sorry for the post if this is really just a bash ironton thing. If not what a great thread for the old timers.

I remember Ironton before Bob Lutz. Things weren't as great before 1972. I think things are slowly heading that way again. But that's OK, nothing wrong with that. It was fun while it lasted.

I remember the first Ironton CAPE game snow waas all the talk but wow that QB for CAPE stole the show.
Pool was his name I think and man could he fly they beat Ironton that night in a tough game for Ironton for sure.
But the speed CAPE had was unreal.

Waverly defeated CAPE in 1989 (I think)in the playoffs. Cape was ranked first in the state in the division. Hey this thread is for old guys, and I was already in my late thirties then.

I think they should rename the OVC and call it the GBU. (The good, the bad, and the ugly)
The good being the original OVC teams, the bad and ugly comprising of teams that couldn't play with the big boys and cut bait and ran to go swim with the bluegills. I.e ironton, gallia, Portsmouth.
