He played qb for the tigers in the 80's and he s the new defensive coordinator for Texas a&m. They just laid the wood to Bama in their house... Maybe the sec will finally not win the national championship....congrats!

He's a PUD!!!!!!!

He is the reason along with the Ironton staff that Gerald Cadogan did not go to Ohio State. OSU was recruiting him hard and a co-worker of mine, who was on the Ironton staff told me that they called Mark Snyder, who was on the OSU staff and told him to convince Tressell to stop recruitng Cadogan. Tressell listened to him and they dropped him cold turkey and then as everyone knows Gerald went to Penn State and started at Left tackle for two years, not giving up one sack. He said they did it because Gerald was from Portsmouth. I almost popped him in the mouth. Not only did Gerald want to go to OSU it would have been easier for a lot more people to go see him play. I got to catch one game of his and that was at Purdue.

I lost all respect for Snyder and was happy when he fell on his face at marshall and couldn't cut it as a head coach.

MARK IS A DEAR FRIEND OF THE OSBORNE'S , AND HE EVEN DATED NY SISTER SOME IN HIGH SCHOOL.
I HAVE NOTHING BUT RESPECT FOR HIM.I FIND THIS STORY KINDA FAR FETCHED MYSELF,
SEEMS TOTALLY OUT OF CONTEXT WITH THE MARK SNYDER I KNOW.
I'M NOT SAYING IT'S NOT TRUE. BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA.
BUT THAT DOES NOT SOUND LIKE THE GUY I KNOW.

Whenever they stop recruiting someone cold turkey, that means they probably landed another recruit they wanted more. It would be interesting to know how many tackles they fish for at the same time. You only have so many schollies to go round. Where your from has nothing to do with your individual abilities as a player. I doubt they would have turned down terrele pryor just b/c he was from ptown. It would have been nice to see him at osu but college football is all business. It's win or die.

Mark is a friend of mine too...and a very classy guy...never thought he was above anyone when he coached at Marshall...continued to be a part of the community...I'm happy to see he is still successful...I heard the announcers late last season saying they wished they had just given him one more year at Marshall...that his recruits had just made it to the table...and he could have really done something with them...he will one day be back...somewhere...probably big time...

are you so narrow minded to think a university like osu would drop a kid because he goes to a rival high school ,lol
the kid was a 3star recruit 18th best tackle in the nation and penn state pushed while osu never offered him a scholarship and dropped him because they had several line recruits including 3- 5star recruits on the OL shutgarts, brewster and mike adams he would have prob never seen the field at osu in his first 3-4 years. he was a gamble as to where he was mac talent or would be a project on a big time roster.
snyder did as well as any other coach has after the big time cheater bobby pruitt was fired (yes fired)! marshall cannot be a big time program like they think they are unless they cheat.

I graduated with mark's wife Beth Molter Snyder. We were very close then & somewhat now. She keeps our IHS gang in the loop on what's going on with their family & coaching relocations via e-mail.
He's a great & humble guy who walked into a mess @ Marshall, did his best, shined @ USF, & just knocked off the front runner for the BCS championship.
He could have cared less then, that a Trojan or senator got dropped as a possible recruit @ OSU. They chose the better recruits as listed above!!!!

I dont think the Ironton folks really care whether u have any respect for Mark.........how close were u to him that u missed popping him in the mouth........could have been a bad decision on your part...........

Mark was set up to fail at Marshall.......he would have cut it had he been dealt a decent hand............
