Minford Falcons @ Northwest Mohawks

Post by Kenraken Ahta »

Well, optimism for the Mohawk season left crushed on the field at Huntington-Ross last week. Hopes of a 6-4 or 7-3 season has turned into a reality of a 1-9 or 2-8 season and a very possible last place finish in the SOC-I (SOS)! No points here for the Falcons, just a mark in the win column. Minford rolls over NW and gets in a ton of playing time for their JV and maybe some Freshmen.

Bad news for the Falcons. Playing in Division 4, with this kind of an opponent does not set well with any playoff expectations.

It's very possible Minford could be looking at a tough road in the conference. But if they were to finish well and get in the playoffs they will not be ready for what they will see. That region is murder.

Until the Mohawks get rid of that offense they will continue to be embarassed. They have had more talent than all three teams they have faced. It is so sad watching them struggle. They should have had a legit chance to win 7 this year but now that is down the drain. I think its time to clean house and start over. They started over with the schedule so maybe it would benefit the program from starting completely fresh next year in all aspects of the program.

I just don't see Minford winning a conference game this year. Highly unlikely.

Minford looks good when running the wing t. The got behind 14-0 early against a solid Paint Valley squad when they came out running the spread and coudnt move the ball their first few possessions.

If they stay focused on the wing t and stay committed to throwing out of it, they will move the ball and score points. Burg is on another level in the league this year IMO but I think they will play good games vs West, Valley and Waverly. Of course my opinion can often be way off!

This game does nothing for Minford , Jackson had week 4 open for a long time. Why wouldn't these two schools play? Good programs and huge gates.

According to Minford's school website, game will be played at Portsmouth's Trojan Coliseum. Heck of a game Friday night with Paint Valley. Those Bearcats can play football and they look poised to win their conference title. Falcons will envade Portsmouth Friday night and should be able to get younger players in the game against the Northwest Mohawks.
Minford and Jackson would make for great game and I for one would love to see it happen. We scrimmage and attend 7's with Jackson.

You don't lose 32-0 to a team riding a 14 game losing streak if you have more talent.

The only problem with cleaning house would be no one would be interested in taking that job.

Mohawks come into this game searching for a win and leave this game still search for it.

Cleaning house won't do any good unless they start from school board down. They have had good coaches out there and not been able to win.

They posted the job early in the year. Did they interview anyone else for the position? I agree that finding someone interested in taking over would be tough.
